Ninja Gaiden
This is one sweet ass game. I got the demo with one of the official xbox magazines. You get three weapons in the demo: a normal sword, kick ass nun chuck things with spikes on the ends, and a huge 100 pound sword. There are around 15 to 25 combos for each different weapon. You can run on walls and cut off the enemy ninjas heads. Its the best demo i have ever played and im deffinetly buying the game when it comes out in March.

There were (I think) three Ninja Gaiden games on the original NES. The game stash was mentioning is the new Ninja Gaiden.

Man, the videos ign had for it are freaking awesome. I can't wait for this game, the sense of speed in combat is unrivaled.

has anyone seen the trailer of the main character fighting the guy with the two stick thing linked by a chain? That was some of the best animation i ve ever seen in a game.

March, they're saying now? I reserved mine back in November, in hopes of having it for Christmas. Then it got pushed back to February, and last I heard it was supposed to be available on the 18th.
Well, I guess it's ready when it's ready, though the wait doesn't get any easier. I'm gonna have to pick up one of those demos, for sure! Also, I hear tell that the finished version of Ninja Gaiden will include the original NES games as a bonus, like Metroid Prime and Panzer Dragoon Orta did with their originals.

IGN has a video of the game. Best graphics I've seen in a while. It reminded me of Prince of Persia (running along/up walls, jumping through the air from wall to wall). The character animation is SUPERB. When he busted out the nunchukus (spelling?) I about fell out of my chair. It was AWESOME. He decapitates enemies left and right, so fast you can barely even see what's going on. One move the player kept doing was jumping in the air, and then slamming down onto the ground and creating a huge explosion, it decapitated the enemies every time. It was great!!!

I've heard both sides say that the demo is awesome, and I've heard people complain about camera issues with the demo. Then I remember that the demo that was released on the OXM disc is a year old. That's right that a year old, if I remember corrrectly that demo was at last years E3. So just think about all the great improvements that should be in the game with it comes out eventually. If you guys thought the demo was good, the final product should be way sweeter

The demo was good, but in certain areas the camera could hang. I don't remember any fixed camera angles so hopefully the final product will give custom camera movement on the right analog stick for those situations.

its a rpg/ fantasy style game. The big thing about the game is that you can side with good or evil. Your decisions affect the way the character looks throughout the game. You can constantly fight and you will be a mighty warrior or you can use magic, help or kill allies...all these things and more contribtue to how you look and the way it all ends. Check out gamespot to see some awesome screen shots.

Also the NPCs in the game are supposed to remember what you've done in the game. For example if you take the evil path and kill the father or mother of a child. When he grows up he might hunt you down to avenge his lost family.
But enough about Fable this is a Ninja Gaiden thread. I heard this release got pushed back again. Anyone know the offical release date?

9.4 from IGN. Definitely a must-play judging from their review.

So is it really out now or what? I've been waiting for a good ninja game to come out on the XBOX. I know this is a Ninja Gaiden thread but I read today that Tenchu will be coming to XBOX with XBOX LIVE capability. Thought you hardcore ninja fans like me would be interested to know that XBOX will be having some awesome ninja games coming out this year.

Sweet, sweet, SWEET! After having the Toys R Us dick around with me all day Tuesday, I picked up a copy Wednesday from someone else. And every bit of time Tecmo has spent polishing NG it was well worth it. Although I will say one thing- it's hard. I got wasted by the first boss about five times before I got him. Logically, though, if you're going to spend the game fighting special ops men and other ninjas, they really shouldn't be pushovers.

Well, that's a good thing. Difficulty in a game, if meted out correctly, makes games a lot of fun, but as long as it's not unecessarily hard, then it's all good.

The first boss with the nun-chucks kicked my ass. He is way harder then the rest of the level.
It is an excellent game but I still like the game engine of Prince of Persia better.

Next to Prince of Persia, this is one of the best games I've played in quite a while. Visually the game is outstanding. Especially on 720p HD. It's gorgeous. I really love the combat. So intuitive that you really feel like you've got full control over Ryu. You can definitely see some Dead or Alive rubbing off on the gameplay. Each weapon has dozens of combination attacks and a counter or two. You gain more combos and attacks as you progress in the game as well.
As far as getting around the levels, it is very similar to PoP. You can run up walls, hang from ledges, run along the walls, do back flips off the wall, etc, etc, etc. Then using those moves along with certain attacks produce some pretty awesome fight scenes. The levels are very well designed. There is very little back tracking from what I've seen thus far too. I never liked having to go back through a level, it seemed like filler space to me. One area that I feel could use some work is the camera. It can sometimes give you poor angles of the environment, and moving the camera can be tricky at best. But it's really not a gameplay killer. Considering the speed and acrobatic moves you can make, it would be hard for any developer to create a camera motion to keep in-sync. I will say this too, this game is damn hard. You'll find some of the easiest looking enemies to be some of the hardest in the game. Especially when you have a room of four or more bouncing around trying to take you down. Luckily Ryu has an uncany ability to block attacks, and luckily for you all you have to do is pull the left trigger. But that won't be enough usually. Don't expect to find any obvious pattern in a boss' fight either. At least in the few I've faced thus far. Most games you can pick up on a pattern of moves they'll perform and when. Not here. No they are some tricky little devils. Anyway, I didn't mean to write a lengthy review of the game, that's what sites on the net are for. This IS a great game though. If nothing else do yourself a favor and rent it for a few days. You won't be disappointed. |
