i wanna get .hack but i havent heard much about it ppl say its about 20 hours long....if thats true then thats one short rpg for the ps2. could you fill me in on the good and bad about .hack?

Voices:
The voices are good, really. That makes the amount of plot you DO get at least enjoyable, but remember this only part 1 of a 4 part collection. :) Each character has his or her own definitive personality, and while some of those might grate on you, that's sort of the point...I think... The voices along with the varying fighting styles (although each of the classes is basically identical with identical gear, so if you find a personality you like in a certain class, you'll more than likely find yourself using that character whenever you are given the option - at times certain characters are simply unavailable, or part of the storyline insists you use a certain character on a given field).

Graphics:
The graphics are solid. There is definitely worse out there. The framerate drops noticeably in cities where a ton of people are all running around at the same time, which is deducts from the game. Oh, well they're always the 2nd game.

Sound:
The sound is well done, for the most part. A few tunes are grating, but they are by far the exception. Also, the sound really reminds you of they T.V. show if you've seen it.

Gameplay:
The battle system is interesting to say the least. It's a real-time battle system that’s comprised of three main components: controlling the camera, giving commands to your party, and commanding your main character. The camara control can get on your nerves at times when you have to turn around really fast and attack people behind you, but a small problem. The attacking is really straight forward. You attack with X. But the commands you have to give or using your skills is were the depth of the system comes in. Its not over complicated but it gives up enough to be effective. Though I wish there were some more options in the Group section.

Overall:
Its a soild game. There are better and there are worse. Just remember this game is mostly story based and this is only part one. Most of the problems you have in the first game can be over come and should be fixed in the second game, hopefully....

I have it too and like it a lot. I haven't played it much lately, though... Too obsessed with MVP 2003.

Eveything dot.hack so far has been a great experience. I cannot WAIT until the second part comes out on Wednesday. The TV series //SIGN has been cool too (and soem of the characters from it are in Part 2). It not teh most challenging RPG, but it is definately one of the most unique ones to come along in sometime. Give me this over another Final Fantasy anyday (never thought I'd say that!)

Does anyone know if .hack is going to be released for the Gamecube?

as of right now not gamecube or xbox release has been announced.

.Hack was really enjoyable to me. I enjoyed the Anime Series alot as well. The last boss was hard enough for me to spend considerable amount of time leveling up. And you get to transfer your Charectors in Part 1 over to Part 2, which was the cake on the icing for me.

Also for the voices: You have the option of having them in Japanese, which was excellent. I was always a Sub Junkie
