I'm not an expert but here's a rough list (in chronological order):

NES - The Legend of Zelda
NES - The Adventures of Link
SNES - A Link to the Past
Gameboy - Link's Awakening
Nintendo 64 - Ocarina of Time
Nintendo 64 - Majora's Mask
Gameboy Color - Oracle of Ages
Gameboy Color - Oracle of Seasons
Gamecube - The Wind Waker

I'd be interested to hear the time-frame arguements of what order the Zelda games come in, heh. That should make some heated discussion.

You didn't specify that you wanted the plot order, you asked what the order of the games is. I don't know the plot order, but wouldn't it sorta fuck up somewhere along? I never beat Majora's Mask, but I remember hearing something about it taking place in another Zelda dimension apart from the rest. I wonder if the other games are the same way?

First off, learn some better english. Second off, next time specify that you want the "time frame order" instead of the order in which they came out.

Best I can figure is that the MM quest goes on while you are in the Temple of Light for seven years then emerge a full grown Hyrulian. Point for this, you already have you Occarina, Master Sword, and Hyrulian Shield.

That'd make sense, but I still remember Miyamoto saying that it takes place in another dimension (or universe). Maybe that was just a rumor or something, but I'm 100% sure I read it from a gaming magazine when Majora's Mask wasn't out yet.

Majora's Mask takes place, I believe, after, the events in Ocarina of Time have taken place. Link leaves Hyrule to persue what is called "an old friend", he's riding Epona, who, at the time is still a young horse. I believe this to be after OOT, because you have the Hylian Shield, but not the Master Sword. You lose the Master Sword after vanquishing Ganondorf. But, if you don't believe me, just check out IGN's take on the story

Quote:

Link's new journey begins where The Ocarina of Time left off. After he rid Hyrule of evil he decided to set out on a quest that would benefit him. He went searching for an adored friend whom he set apart from when his legacy turned legendary. In the middle of this journey Link stumbles into a mysterious new land named, Termina (Note: Termina appears to be based off the word "Terminus", which denotes a limit or ending point). Through word of mouth, Link hears that Termina is in peril because the moon is unmercifully crashing down towards the earth leaving only a matter of days before the land breaths its last breath. On this new territory Link is riding his young steed through a thick forest, when two fairies scare his horse throwing him to the ground leaving him unconscious. It turns out the two fairies are working at the hand of an evil masked thief and all-around troublemaker. Link awakens angered to find them toying with his Ocarina of Time, which was given to him by Princess Zelda. This masked villain steals Link's horse and eventually curses Link himself. This is where the story begins and just three days -- 72 Hours-- later it will end if you don't halt the moons death march towards the land of Termina. Link isn't sure where this disguised troublemaker fits in, but the end of the world awaits if he doesn't vow to help these people.

Pardon me, Omega, but wasn't Ura Zelda, Ocarina of Time: Master Quest? I remember that it was actually released on the 64DD and it just had harder dungeons, but had the same storyline. Nintendo brought it out of Japan in the bundle if you preordered Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker as Ocarina of Time: Master Quest.

I believe that Ocarina of Time was intended to be the first Zelda story, with the followup Majora's Mask featuring the same Link. Then next in the chronology were A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening respectively. I base that primarily on the fact that the story of Ganondorf was already known by characters in the game. The NES Zeldas would have to take place further in the future, because the villages in Adventure of Link had the same names as the sages in OOT (A neat bit of retroactive continuity ). And of course, Wind Waker has to take place last. The Oracle games could technically fit in anywhere after Majora's Mask (Link looks a little more teenaged). So, as I see it:

Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
(Oracle Games?)
A Link to the Past
Link's Awakening
The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link
Wind Waker

Nintendo claims Ura Zelda is Master Quest, but it isn't. I've seen screenshots of Ura Zelda, and it looked nothing like OoT. Ura Zelda wasn't released either, they were going to but since the N64DD wasn't doing so hot, they cancelled it. When you pre-ordered Wind Waker for the GameCube in the US you got a bonus disc that had Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Master Quest. Master Quest was basically a remix of OoT with new dungeons, some stuff edited out, increased/decreased difficulty at parts, stuff like that.

I believe Master's Quest is a remake of Ocarina of Time with harder dungeons, not Majora's Mask.

Yeah, I think Ganon's supposed to resurrect himself every hundred years, sort of like Dracula in Castlevania. Also like Dracula, he tends to come back early sometimes.
