Rockstar announces Grand Theft Auto: Sin City, San Andreas, Bogota, and Tokyo!
That's right! The US Patent Office released that the company that owns Rockstar bought the patents for FOUR new GTA games in December.
Quote:
Grand Theft Auto: Sin City Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Grand Theft Auto: Bogota Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo The article mentions that Rockstar may have registered these simply to keep gamers guessing which city the next GTA will take place in...but that just seems like a waste of time and money. Let's hope for the best! I can't wait. The last two GTA games have had me incredibly addicted with their amazing physics engine and story. Bring it on, Rockstar! -Lasereth

Rockstar, let's not turn this into a "Tony Hawk" franchise. As long as the games aren't ridiculously easy like GTA3 and VC, they might be good.

Amazing news indeed! Great news!
I love the series, I've played since the first game. And with the reports of Rockstar earning over $260 million in the first year with Vice City alone, its clear they are making tons of cash off this! Bring on more games! They all are good! But the more games, the more chances for idiot activist people to flame them for being so violent. |

I hope its not Tokyo.
Too many pedestrians = high system requirement Plus japanese cars that explode after a minor dent = not fun at all

This is good news.
All I ask is that they continue the franchise as they have before. I've loved GTA since game 1, and the 3D versions are the best! Let's hope they don't start stomping them out on an assembly line.... The city characteristics were great in GTA3 and VC, and that is difficult to achive (I especially liked the city planning in 3), I hope they won't cut short on that in the future...

Easy? Which missions were you playing..... Some of those later missions on both games kept me going back tens of times. The games may be "easy" simply because you can beat them in a week or two, but not ridiculously easy ......

sure, if you use the cheats.....if you're saying you didn't die once, or get busted once, that is a lie...the only way you can do that is with cheats or something going on. there is simply no way you could run through both games and not die or get busted. no way at all, I don't care who you are. and I've played GTA 1 and GTA 2, and they are difficult, but 3 and VC can be difficult at times also. enough to where you would die and/or get busted every once in a while........ |

Yeah, if anyone were to beat the "Save Lance" mission the first time without failing then I'd personally make them my Hero. Same thing with a dozen of the other missions in the game. Some are simply impossible to beat the first time...a few of them require memorizing the entire city to get through in under the time limit. I'll admit that I did beat the game with every mission in under a week, but that's not saying I didn't play some of the missions dozens of times each.

I wonder how the online version would work? You couldn't walk anywhere because someone would run you over. All of the people in cars would be smashing into everything! How would they maintain the premise in a massive online world?

GTA is what online games need to be like
I hope one of them is online. If not an mmorpg, they should have multi system co-op. You and a friend jump into a car, or 2 cars, and do a mission together, watching each others backs. It would be great. The new GTA games were amazing. I remember seeing it in stores and passing it right over, thinking it would be the same as the GTA2. I hope to be just as surprised with the next ones.

MTA EXISTS!!! I play MTA on Vice City quite Frequently. The netcode isn't the best yet, but it has really improved! They have stunt servers and Deathmatch Servers. Sadly people do cheat.. even in this. But you're safe in the Stunt Servers.. no guns, but you still have cars.. and the imfamous Helicopter Blades ... Dunno if there's a hunter in the stunt servers...
It seriously can be a lot of fun. A TFP Server would be sweet. I just want Rockstar Games to FINISH their Online Code this time around as good netcode would have been sweet... that and the mods that would have been made off that game? ooooh weeeee! oh yeah MTA has a copy for both GTA:3 and GTA:VC Linkage Below: http://www.mtavc.com/

If GTA: Vice City was based on Miami, are we safe to assume Grand Theft Auto: Sin City will be based on Vegas (obviously) and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be set in Los Angeles or San Francisco?
