Go to http://www.fileplanet.com/ to get the new patch. I don't know what it fixes, but with Halo, any fixes are good fixes.

Map quick restart restarts any MP game good for having all players start at the same time.

New in-game scoreboard Displays players, kills, deaths, assists and ping

Increased chat text length Chat length has been increased from 40 characters to 64 characters

Improved banned player detection - Banned players no longer appear in game for brief second before getting kicked out

Fixes:

Plasma grenades can no longer teleport on vehicles
Players standing on rock no longer experience "warping"
Teleporters no longer cause occasional camera out of sync
Cinematic speech bug with Audigy cards fixed
Game not starting with unsupported refresh rates fixed
"Telefraged" message is now displayed when a player is telefraged
Flashlight toggle bug in MP games fixed
Interrupting reload animation bug fixed

Dedicated Server:

Increased server name length Server names can now be up to 63 characters in length

Expanded character set for server names Server names can now contain extended punctuation and characters

RCON can now pass quotation marks to server useful for turning on and off passwords

Fixed "-ip" for assigning which network card is used by the game

Fixed ability to restart a single instance of the server without restarting all instances

Even with all the features that the new patch has it fails to have one major fix that the game so deperately needs:

Stops computers from crashing, and if it doesn't crash it might actually run like a normal fucking game and not a lame ass piece of shit that slows down gaming machines to make them seem like a PC that came from the 80's.

The PC version is crappy though... I'm just glad I have the Xbox version with a LAN to play on

I'm not too thrilled by console to PC Ports. My PC hardware is much more powerful than the XBox's hardware, yet Halo loads my system down. BS, BS, BS.

I've an FX5900, a gig of DDR Ram, 2.4GHz of processing power and an Audigy 2, yet the highest FPS count I can muster in this game is an awkward 35.

Disgusting, glad I didn't have to pay for it (promo copy).

Yeah, Halo is pretty much a disgrace to the PC community. First it was promised as a PC game, only to be yanked for the XBox by M$ at the last minute. Then years later, an extremely hobbled port is made available to PC folks. Hell, I never thought I would see it available for the PC, so they could have taken another 6 months and optimized it. Oh well, I only wasted $40 on it. Wait! That pisses me off! lol.

I can't imagine someone with a GeForce 3 or Radeon 8500 trying to play Halo. I think a 9700 Pro is the bare minimum for Halo. My 9500 Pro overclocked can cope, but gets bogged down.

I just picked it up for $35 in EB used games. I haven't installed it yet, so i cant complain.

I miss <b>Tribes</b>. That always ran well, and was always fun

I have an 8500 Radeon and the game is playable, but the frame count does tend to suck at times. My biggest beef with the game is how they made the idiotic decision to yank out coop play. The funnest part of the Xbox game imho. Playing the sp version of the game can tend to get a bit boring for me. I still think its a fun game as is, but not a great game by any means.
