[B] There is already a large FFXI thread, which you can post all sorts of praise for FFXI, on. This is a thread that was specifically created for World of Warcraft, and by posting only vague praise for another game, without any sort of real information, you aren't really helping the thread out at all. If you like something about FFXI and hope that it is implemented in WoW, or dislike that it will not be implemented in WoW, post that. That would stimulate discussion and get some ideas and comments floating around. Of course, it's not against the rules to post "Why play WoW when you can play FFXI?", but imho it really isn't a worthwhile contribution. I have no intention of ever playing FFXI, for a variety of reasons. I have friends who have played it (past tense), and I've played EverQuest for three years (perhaps the worst failure of any mmorpg as far as the customer is concerned), and really don't trust Square to do a good enough job to warrant me paying monthly and investing huge amounts of time into a character. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a new WoW update for those who don't check the Blizzard site every couple of days. Trolls and Gnomes have been added to the Town Hall and there is a Tradeskills page hidden away. Quote:
Also, i am just one out of 5 people that had to say something about FFXI.

Blizzard has been getting slammed for not focusing enough on graphics, because the models in WoW are not as detailed as those in EQ2. The major selling-point of WoW is that it will not just be pretty pictures with levels, but a deep story-driven game with dynamic events and a reason to play. You are the first person that I have seen claim that Blizzard is focusing too much on graphics, and that is not whining because Night Elves don't look photorealistic.

war carft 3 is not origanal or innovative
it does not hold a canddle to any of blizzards other games for replayabity that said if it did not come form blizz i would problay like it but i hold blizzard to a higher starand then making a rehash of a better game that being warlords battle cry 2 maybe i would like it more if they had done it frist or best witch they did neither |

Hey, WoW looks like it's gonna be a great game. But I'm kind of not looking forward to it as much as before since I got FFXI. I'm not going to judge how good WoW is until I play the beta test... Even if I don't get in I can still play it a LAN center in town that is getting into it.

I thinks MMORPG's should be like 20-30 dollars. cuz u need to pay every month to play ne ways, and the cost of makin these games cant be more than 5 dollars at the most... If you sold a game for 20 dollars that cost you 5 dollars, and the gamer didnt like it, you get a 15 dollar profit.. if the buyer did like it, you get that constant flow of cash.. an MMORPG being the same price as an offline game from the beginning sounds wrong... .. just my opiny

Anyone read up on the trade skills? Go to the blizz website and check 'em out if you haven't. It looks BAD-ASS. And the best part?
Taken from the Blizzard website: There are many unique weapons and other armaments that cannot be found on any of the vendors or monsters in the game, but can only be created by Blacksmiths. Now try and tell me that doesn't get you hard.

All I can say is that the game didn't take it to that extra level for me. I won't try to tell you I thought it was a bad game. But held to the (incredibly high) standard that StarCraft set, it didn't deliver. If I hadn't played so much WC2 & SC I'm sure my expectations would've been different, so perhaps in a sense I was "worn out". But if SC2 were released today I would buy it immediately.
I'm glad to hear that so many of you had a great experience with WC3. But I wanted to acknowledge dragon2fire's controversial opinion as shared by at least one other gamer. |

now, I don't play RTS, so i can't really say what I think about WC3.. although the graphics were polished nicely. To me its just like any other RTS on the market with a few perks. But I must say, I've Seen Dragon2Fire play Battlecry 2 quite a few times, and that game looks excellent. Personally I think it is probably a lot better than WC3.

god, galaxies was awesome... after the problems that all mmrpgs have with launch... but then people kept complaining and they kept nerfing everything. i swear i went through 8 diff chars before i just gave up.... they made everything useless. my friend got lucky and sold chars over ebay for like 500 bucks before they got nerfed... they mustve been pissed... and as far as ffx1 goes.... well i heard u cant create char so everyone u run into looks exactly the same as you (yay!) sounds like a school uniform type of thing... blah, and the fact that the controls were prob just remapped in 1 min for the pc port, paying no attention as to offer a configuration option. horrible horrible... wow.... is gonna tear them all apart. i thought ffx1 would have achance ... but not in this world... or this hell.
