I just downloaded a massssssssssssive movie/demo (650MB) of Half-Life 2 from Gamespy. I can only say this: Mother of God! It looks sooooooooooo good. If you have a broadband connection, download this badboy and you will be amazed. I am still stunned at how amazing this game will be. No joke, download this movie.

Old news bud but heck, it's an amazing vid eh? Pity the commentary is 75% bullshit as evidenced by the HL2 BETA Leak (well, we can't call it a leak since it was stolen but you know what I mean).

How they said AI handles all the events and stuff, it was all scripted. However the Physics are still to die for

The physics are indeed awsome, and if you want a taste of the physics engine, grab a copy of max payne 2. Both games use the Havok engine.

Oh please. It was E3, a key word, demonstration.
Of course it was scripted there. Its already been officially said that it will be controlled by AI in the final game.
Thats what happens when you judge a stolen, extremely incomplete version of a game, versus the facts.

Despite that the fact remains that Valve lied to the public. Either way the game is phenomenal and the Beta increased my aniticpation for the final product ten-fold.

Too true, the shadows are what really sold me, character models weren't all that but still better than what we've got today (in most cases).

So what ever happened with all the "leaked beta/source" hype? Seemed to have died rather quickly. Last I heard was a threat to release a playable beta online if Valve didn't tell the truth about the real release date. But I guess that was a hoax too. I'm really starting to belive that the whole thing was started by Valve themselves.

They released it, along with a Beta for Condition Zero.
