For big fans of Squaresoft, your own buster sword.

I didn't know they made buster swords until just recently and I thought I would share this with you guys. I think the next one is even better...

The fabled Masamune, and this one is better quality too. They are both about the same price(around $280.00). You can find these swords and others here

Cool stuff huh:cool:

ironx 10-28-2003 05:35 AM

OMG!

i'm totally speechless. The Masamune looks totally...cool. and thats an understatement. Top it off with some white dye, some rock-style hair and you've got a real-life bad ass Sephiroth.

The buster sword is kinda small though, rem it to be bigger form the game.

Xiangsu 10-28-2003 05:40 AM

Yeah, its quite a bit smaller. Imagine trying to hold it if it was full size.

YaWhateva 10-28-2003 10:22 AM

The Masamune is much smaller too than in the game. But i'm not complaining, that would be a crazy long sword. I really want one of those masamunes though.

Joy-Stick 10-28-2003 11:17 AM

Yeah there is some online comic i use to read and the writer had a buster sword. mind ya this was about 1.5-2 years ago give or take

Slacks_01 10-28-2003 11:57 AM

are the blades real, as in you can kill someone with it real?

iktoweya 10-28-2003 12:09 PM

hrm too bad you can't get it made according to your size as you know cloud's is huger than he is

Xiangsu 10-28-2003 12:11 PM

Yes, but the buster sword isn't that sharp at all. However, the Masamune is pretty sharp. The masamune has a rating of 7 in the sharpness area.(meaning: (7) Sharpened - This begins the realm of low-end custom blades and high quality commercial blades. Surpasses field requirements.)

IckUber 10-28-2003 03:24 PM

whoa, if i was rich, i would have those now.

Rabid Bunny 10-28-2003 03:58 PM

*maybe one day i'll learn how to post like an adult, with intelligent comments and insights and everything!*

No, dead giveaway is the price. A regular battle ready sword is going to cost you at least 300 dollars, for one of these recreations to be battle ready, you'd be looking at a small fortune.

Check the material as well, carbon spring steel is not the kind of steel a real battle ready sword is made off. You'll be able to stab someone with it for sure, but it'll probably break if you go trying to kill trees and such.

This is a display piece.

TerresqueÜ 10-28-2003 06:28 PM

That is really very 1337.

battlemouth 10-28-2003 08:45 PM

haha i want to run the streets naked with a masume

lol~

Those are pretty neat, and I would deffinitely run the streets naked if I had one!

Gortexfogg 10-29-2003 07:45 AM

Woh, that masume... me and five of my friends could hold onto that at the same time. It's be great to use to pick who bats first in baseball games!

EVERY Final Fantasy has had a masamune.

froggyo 10-29-2003 08:40 AM

hate to say it, but there's more than just final fantasy that has a masamune...basically every game that has swords in it......has a masamune....i mean seriously....soul calibur 2 has a masamune, chrono trigger, etc...

krazixs 10-29-2003 09:34 AM

I don't think he was being selective just on topic. Masamune and Murasame are both swords featured in quite a few games, popular views however will point more to FF simply because it's been around a bit longer.

Interetingly both swords are named after famous historical Japanese sword smiths. Masamune was viewed as Japans greatest swordsmith of all time. His swords were much sought after and highly prized. Murasame on the other hand was well known for the fact that many believed his blades to cursed and carried ill fortune, just some small useless facts

Joy-Stick 10-29-2003 09:42 AM

hey if your lookin for an actuall battle ready sword try going to your local knife shop and see if they can order you a folded steel katana. I know the one around here use to have a couple for sale for about 380 but they were low quality ones as far as folded steel goes. The owners of the same shop had one that was worth about 1500 or so.

yellowgowild 10-29-2003 04:43 PM

I really dont think that Buster sword has to be sharp to kill anyone with it, if you bring that down on someones skull, im sure you would do some damage.

31Friction 10-29-2003 06:05 PM

oooooo masamune :)

Intangible 10-29-2003 07:33 PM

I loved the masamune in chrono trigger, and now the frog dude got it. Anyways, imagine owning one of these, but a custom, battle ready one. My lord, I can get a temper and lose my cool quite often. People will learn to stay away from me, hahahahaha.

battlemouth 10-29-2003 10:33 PM

that guy thinks he is a complete bad ass cause he gets to be a trench coat wearing sword model. poor guy haha

DownwardSpiral 10-30-2003 07:58 PM

To quote Wayne Campbell, "It will be mine, oh ye, it will be mine!" Only I'm not referring to some guitar, I mean that Masamune.

Prophecy 10-31-2003 08:38 PM

http://www.weaponmasters.com/images/...M/WM-1500L.jpg

wasn't this in one of the FF's too?

Lasereth 10-31-2003 09:13 PM

Yeah, that's Squall's Gunblade from FF8.

-Lasereth

bennyb 10-31-2003 09:42 PM

Screw the swords, i want that cloak type thing that dude is wearing. Gimme a straight out katana :P

Kraz,could you tell me more?

I'm really intrested in both of those smiths now.

Also, the buster sword isnt large enough.

NeverBorn 11-01-2003 10:56 PM

I don't think the buster sword is that much like its "counter-part" but the Masamune is very sexah

"The Masamune looks totally...cool. and thats an understatement. Top it off with some white dye, some rock-style hair and you've got a real-life bad ass Sephiroth." Not quite. To be bad-ass, you'd have to know how to use a blade, not just look good. above and beyond that, the Masamune featured isn't the same as Sephiroth's - the featured has a handle-grip at least a third the length of the blade, if not more, whereas (if I remember the game correctly) the blade Sephiroth used was more than 3 times the length of the handle. granted, I doubt that a sword that as long as his could be made, but... it's nice to dream.

sadistikdreams 11-02-2003 06:32 PM

OHMYGOD! THAT GUNBLADE IS BEAUTIFUL!

The Geek 11-02-2003 09:00 PM

the handle on the Masamune is way too long.

Ho-train 11-02-2003 09:08 PM

ya that gunblade is really badass. fuck those other 2 swords...as awesome as they were in the games, they arent quite as cool in real life

Shauk 11-02-2003 09:28 PM

too bad the gunblade is 8 inches long... oh well, guess you could use it at the dinner table then :D

Ho-train 11-03-2003 12:51 PM

yea, i hear it doubles really well as a steak knife =P

hawkeye 11-03-2003 12:58 PM

oh for the love of....
y'know what? those swords are not perfect replicas. they are not perfect battle swords from the warring states era, that guy is not neo, yes, all true, but goddamn it, those are cool swords.

Devilchild 11-04-2003 03:49 PM

Wow... that buster is like pure bueaty, it could do with some scratches and blood stains (fake blood of course) then hang it on my wall, would look incredibly cool :) *starts saving up*

Devilchild 11-04-2003 03:49 PM

does anybody know if these are actually legal in the UK?

krazixs 11-04-2003 04:19 PM

Don't know if it's legal, but I went to one of their stores and actually held this thing, it's pretty damn heavy, small, but heavy. So get ready to pay a fortune in shipping :)
