P.S. For those of you who want to know...I went back to the Island to find my body with my friend and tried to remember where I had jumped into the water. It took me about a good half hour of swimming around, but I finally found it about a good 100 feet down hanging off the edge of an underwater cliff. Another foot out and my body would've been at the bottom and it would've been too deep for me to retrieve it. I wouldn't have even found it. It took me about 10 times of diving down to my body and then dragging all of the stuff off into my inv and then running back up for air. Needless to say that when that was done, I hauled ass back to the row boat and left immediately and never went back again. |

I am much happier to realize I'm not the only one who does this.
Give me and my friend a cube of Mountain Dew Code Red and we're set for the weekend. Diablo 2:LoD easily went 12-15 hours straight over a weekend at a time. Every once in a while you'd look over and see the other person asleep at the computer or the sun was coming up or some other distraction. Before that for me it was Final Fantasy Tactics. I must've stayed up 15-20 hours playing that in the summer. Now, the new game for me is going to be Morrowind as it looks like I can explore forever in there. After that, hopefully WoW. Anyone on West up for some all nighter LoD?

Hmmmm....
Doom death matches for 4-5 hours a shot. Counterstrike for 6-7hours on weekends The worst was Anarchy-online. 18hours straight one night. I played the game for about 6 months. My total time played during that 6 months is 35 days. That is 35 x 24 hours = 840hrs. Averages out to about 4.5 hours a day. Like ever quest it is very addicting without be a lot of fun. There is a support group out there called Anarchy Widows from all of the women that have divorced over that evil game. I got out for good and have been free from it for 6 months now. I have easily pulled off 12 hour sessions of Wil Arms 2, Paracite Eve 1 or 2, Final Fantasy * (* = any), and shit.. some PC games have controlled my life like no other.
But I know I have never done more then say 18 of any one game solid.. My brain simply will force me to fall asleep at the keyboard. ANd yes I've done this many times.

i almost felt like passing out playing KotOR. I thought about stories of how some people died from playing video games for too long. like how their nose started to bleed then they passed out and just never woke up. I did actually start to get scared because I felt something weird in my nose but I just had to keep going! I also thought about how some people have seizures when they see flashing colors and I started to notice the pretty lightsabers and beams. I had to look away for a second there and really thought about if I should keep going. But thankfully I finished KotOR without passing out. but damn Videogames are dangerous for you!!

Neverwinter Nights, Baulder's Gate 2, Fallout 1/2, KOTOR were all stay up untill dawn games. Counter-Srike caused me to fall asleep at the keyboard from playing 17 hours straight one weekend. Alpha Centuari and Civ 3 are in the 24 hour club, games I have stayed awake playing for 24 hours.
I had Asheron's Call for two years and now I refuse to play MMORPGs. The social and exploration aspects eat my time like none other. I'm really hoping WOW and EQ2 suck really hard so I can avoid buying them.

12-18 hour bursts of Diablo were common back in the day. There was a huge snowstorm around the same time that Ocarina of Time came out. It was bad enough to the point where pretty much everything was closed for 3 days. Cars were buried completely, so the only thing I did was play. I'd say I played about 36 out of 48 hours during that.. nothing else ta do! THPS... man, I'd play for SO many hours on end. At least 8 hours a day, haha. Now that I'm older (23), I can't really play anything for more than 3-4 hours at a time or I start falling asleep for some reason.. even if the game is fun as hell. It's very odd, heh.

When I was about 13 my buddy and I played Link for nes from about noon until 5am. When I tried to go to sleep, I litterally had the images burned into my eyes. I couldn't sleep and was practically halucinating. I recommend this to anyone

76 Hours in EverQuest (original) back in 98/99. I was still in middle school, it was during the summer, I had caffiene.. and I was NOT fucking leaving the ghoul castle until the Shin Ghoul Lord spawned with his sword so I could loot it..
I started to hallucinate that he had spawned and I'd get up to attack it and realize it wasnt actually there. The spawn time was exactly 17 minutes, so I started getting up and walking around after a while..

Damn... my longest is probably only about 8 or 10 hours. Back in the heyday of AoE and then AoK:TC I would play back to back to back matches that lasted like 3 hours each, with only a few minutes between each.
Middle school and high school was such a fucking joke. I had no idea how easy I had it back then

I've pulled more all-nighters than I can count, many of them were playing FFXI.
The longest I think I've actually played a game in one sitting would probably be Metal Gear Solid 2, which I played for 11 hours straight one day. I stopped playing almost at the very end of the game, because the game actually told me to turn it off. The commander guy actually called me on my codec and said "You have been playing this game too long, turn it off now.", and I actually complied and turned the game off. The next time I played, I realized that he says that no matter how long you've been playing, and I was kind of disappointed. |

I know I pulled a lot of freakshow moments in EQ1. I think the longest one in recent memory was when I used to play Desert Combat (1942 mod) all fucking day long my sophomore year. I know I played it 12 hours straight a few times. I had 900 hours on my warrior when I quit playing WoW and around 500 hours on my priest, so I had my share of streaks in WoW, but nothing like EQ. EQ is waaay more addicting than WoW. Hell, I'd play EQ when I wasn't having fun. If WoW even began to bore me the slightest, I'd always stop playing immediately. EQ got you to play even if you didn't want to.

I can't imagine actually playing a game for as long as you guys occasionally do. My longest is MAYBE 8 hours of a combination of Warcraft 3 and Guild Wars.

Phew, I logged about 600 hours on Guild Wars this summer (PVP mostly).. About an 7-8 hour streak every night. We did a few 15+ nights, too. Just last night was another no-sleeper..

We generally do LAN parties once every few months - we find a nice three day weekend and buy plenty of alcohol, food, and snacks and start gaming. We'll go upwards of 15 or 20 hours with no sleep, just booze and games. It makes Desert Combat (among many other FPS games) a lot more interesting when you're the person flying the helicopter and yet you just blew a 0.12+ on your friend's breathalizer.

oh man. The end of a semester at college I had a final at the beginning of the week and at the end. Everyone else left at the beginning of the week so I decided to play a game called Legend of Dragoon, a four disc PS1 RPG. I spent a good 72 to 80 hours playing that game. Straight, no sleep. I got up only to shower once and go to the bathroom. My fridge and microwave were right next to me so I didnt have to move. My roomate would stop by occasionally asking if I had slept or anything. Lets just say... the boss was no sweat for me at the end.
Other wise within the past 3 months I have sucessfully beaten: FF9, FFX, FFX-2 (3 three times, stupid 100% ending), Kingdom Hearts, an RPG called Legend of Legaia, 3/4 of FF8, 1/2 of FF7, Ace combat 5 (Ace difficulty), Sacred (Diablo style RPG, hardest difficulty), Advent Rising (Normal and Hard), Spent countless hours on Warcraft 3, Morrowind, and Sid Meyer's Pirates. I am sure I am forgetting something. Meh, I have too much time on my hands. |

Likewise with EverQuest.. I think a lot of it for me was that I would spent 2 or 3 hours finding a group back then, and so I could justify not leaving. "Well, if I quit now.. I'll have to sit around for another 3 hours trying to find a group..."
Plus, I was in middle school/high school so I actually had the time / irresponsibility to be able to do it.. looks like no one has beaten my 76 hours. I got ghoulbane, by the way. Then half a year later, they released it as an easy quest.. I was PISSED.

I'd say back when I played WoW. The one day I was literally on from like 9/10 AM till 5AM the next day. Yeah I quit playing that game.
Sure I had minor breaks for eating, drinking , bathroom needs. But its rather pathetic still.
