Final Fantasy 8
second day i had it got home from school played till i had to get ready for school the next morning slept at school came home, played FF8 at like 4 in the morning, I found out that they had all known each other but forgot about it. I figured I must have just been THAT exhausted, and went to sleep. Next afternoon I found out that it was the game that was stupid, not me. |

Aaaaah, yes. Umm...I think I pulled an all-nighter with a couple of my guy friends one Friday night. Played Diablo II: LOD from like...17h on Friday to 5h on Saturday. So what, that's 12 twelve hours. ha...
I would have to say about 7 hours straight playing the Matrix Game and I have stayed up to 3AM playing Unreal Tournament 2003 and Age of Mythology. Would have stayed up later - if it wern't for the damn parents
its the summer-why can't we stay up all night?? -SImo |
Way to long. I am not a big gamer but when I was a kid, I spent the night at a buddy's house and we spent all of friday afternoon until Saterday afternoon playing Nintendo. "Link" I think it was... anyway. When I finally went to bed, I couldn't sleep because there were little video game men burned into my brian. I would see them hopping around and stuff everytime I closed my eyes... as an adult, I have been up til about 4am playing a few times I think.
I've done over 12 hours playing Civilization, Elite & Bard's Tale.
I've not done anything like that for quite a few years now, as I don't get addicted to games as much now. |
My old roommate and I spent about 18 hours straight playing Fallout 2 "tag-team" style over a weekend. One person would eat/go to bathroom/nap while the other would play, and when the switch happened we would fill each other in on anything we missed or whatever needed to be done.
Nowadays I feel lucky if I can put in just a couple hours a week... |
18 hrs in one shot(FFVII when i had a broken leg).... and 35 hours over a 3 day span(Arc the Lad 2, jus meer boredom)...
MMORPGs are the ultimate in making you stay up forever. When I played Asheron's Ccall I'd usually get home from school, make myself do homework, then play until 3 or 4 AM (waking up at 7 for school). At one point it was revealed that a rare drop item would be removed in 24 hours... so nerds that we were, my friend and I spent 24 hours in his basement camping spawns to stockpile as much as we could. I dozed off a few times, hehe. Memories...
I pull at least 2-3 all-nighters a month and have been for five or so years now:o
But the 2 most memorable...... When that dirt rat fuck :mad:Sephiroth:mad: killed my gal in Final Fantasy VII even though I had been playing for 7 hours that night, I vowed I wouldn't sleep till he slept with the fishes. 23 hours later I had missed work, pissed my roomie off to no end, and broke 1 dish (when I jumped up at one point I sat on it) but he was dead. Great Vindication I must admit. I spent 23 hours playing Vice City doing nothing but Ambulance and Firetruck missions :( Damn I need help.........;) |
I had a two-day rental for Chrono Trigger on the SNES when it came out and it logged 38 hours before returning it. I had beaten it 5 different ways. I forgot to eat all of Saterday. I think about 22 hours of that was straight through, I crashed out at around 7:00 AM and got up at about 11:00 and kept playing.

I used to play Legacy of the Wizard with my father about 10 years ago, we tried everything to get through that game and we couldn't figure out what to do next for the life of us. We're both stubborn and don't go to others for help on games. I think the hardest game that we actually beat together was Bard's Tale 3... we spent months on that game. And, I still remember to this day, how surprised we were how easy it was to kill Tarjan when we finally found him by having someone sneak in the shadows behind him and then go for the fatal blow! |
15-20 hours playing Kingdom Hearts
I think 8 hrs once for Shenmue and about 7 for FF Tactics

Hail to the bane of productivity. |
Right when the MoH AA multiplayer demo came out for PC I would pull allnighters a few times a week. Around hour 10 my eyes would start twitching pretty bad though. Next addiction I'll be pulling all nighters for will probably be Dragon Empires. Any of y'all been following that game?
6 hours partying with someone in iRO.
VT was such a bitch, but I remember those all day / night fear runs a couple years ago. Jesus. THen add some wipeouts.
Back in HS on a Friday evening about 6P.M. I sat down at the computer to log into Everquest (back when there was only one expansion) with the exception of bathroom breaks and kitchen runs I did not leave the computer till 2P.M. on Sunday and did not even know Saturday had passed. On Monday i cancelled my account. Only to reopen it 3 times later. Damn addicting game and damn friends who kept playing it.
We used to pull all nighters playing LAN games. We had our LAN set up in the basement of a friends house, and his dad would come down to go to work and we would still be in there playing.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!??!!?
I used to stay up all night playing counterstrike! ALL NIGHT! my knees would hurt because id sit on them on my chair for hours and hours and stop for nothing but food and bathroom! :P |
I played Subspace probably about 80-100hours a week every week for a few months
Damn, I thought I was pretty into my gaming, but I'm a wuss compared to most of you guys. I reckon the longest I've played was the first time I played Carmageddon- which must have been about eight hours straight. Though I might have played Diablo II for about ten hours one stinking hot summer day, just because I had nothing better to do.

I'd say StarCraft cost me many, many hours of much needed sleep :D
not til a lil after diabloii came out.... my friends were asians and taught me how to kickass... so i stayed over for 2 1/2 days and played straight.... i left when someone hit a power box and cut the powre from the neighborhood... then i went to mcdonalds got some good fries.... skated for about 2 hours... then went back home to the energy back up... and played on my crapier computer..... wow....but that break stops the time i guess.
38 hours camping the Raster Idol for monk epic in Everquest.
I wanted to die. |

gah fear raids had such potential to turn into hair-pulling brain fucks when they went bad. At least in the old days, when fear was the baddest ass place you could go ;) |
longest i have played a game is 3 days, 6 sixty second breaks durring it. when you gota go you gota go.
the game was Vampire the masquerade redemption |
I've pulled a couple of all-nighters.
used to play Gauntlet for NES all night long and a few times my friends and I used to have lan parties that ran for 3 straight days. The only time that was not spend on gaming was for 4 hours a sleep a day.
I would say at least a few all-nighters due to Ultima Online Beta. Damn them.
i feel as though my geekhood is insufficient, i've only played for at most 8 hours straight.
I have spent an entire weekend form the time I got off work on friday till I should ahve gone to work on monday (called in sick). I must have taken naps when the maps and such loaded but that is about it. of course it was at a lan party wehre it is eaiser to stay awake.
Put me down for 38 hours. Good night.
Jesus, how do you guys do it? I only play an hour at a time these days (at the most). But like I said before I pulled a whole day and nighter on Final Fantasy VIII.
ive stayed up for 60 hours strait playing EQ. Dam game. That was when kunark just came out and we cleared pog a multiple times and i got my beserker BP )
just spent 8 hours last night playing Civ3, was up till 6am
longest ever was around 40 hours at a Lan Party hyped up on a mix of Red Bull and Pure Orange Juice (good for when ur hiking, bad when ur sat in front of a PC) |
I played Diablo II when I got it last October for like a weekend.
I still play all nighters on it, but.. a weekend. CivIII is cool game but I wish I had the online version. It would be so much cooler. |
12-14 hours playing Rampage for the NES with a friend.
Godammit, we beat it. |
8 in the morning to 8 in the next morning playing Spearhead
Waaay back in the spring of 92, during spring vacation, my buddy and I locked ourselves in the computer lab @ college and played X-wing for 3 days straight.
We would take turns getting food/sleeping/peeing, etc. Damn we were nuts. |
I went through a FF stage and I played FFVII practically all day every day until I got to the end of the game where there weren't any save point, and once I got to that point I played it for over 24 hours straight till I beat it. I immediatley passed out after that though...
I also played FFVIII even MORE religiously than I did VII. It took much longer to beat though. But I remember playing it for a little under 24 hours one day. I still play it every once in a while, because theres so many things that you can miss on those games. |
Heheheheh... well, I can't get close to beating any of you in your times... but I will tell you, back in the day, from the end of June to the beginning of September, there would be about 12 hours of computer gaming A DAY. I wouldn't go to people's houses, so if they wanted to visit they would have to come over and watch. I never ate supper once in the summer that year... man, Civ II, Diablo I, etc... If you multiply the 70 days I spent about on average 10 hours playing... that's 700 hours in 3 months (20 days of doing things not involving computer gaming, like... BUYING computer games!) Anyway, nowadays, I still play turn-based strategy but not as often, and most recent games I've bought (Call of Duty, Max Payne 2, Prince of Persia) I've all beaten in one or two sittings. Quite disappointing, when you WANT to have a marathon gaming session but the game just isn't long enough to even last ya the afternoon. :( Anyways, to all those who've demolished my record of 18 hours, congradulations! I'll see what I can do to beat the all-time record, which seems to be... 2 weeks. Crap!
I would spend all day playing starcraft broodwar... ah the days...
Worst I've done was from Friday after work (6pm), untill about 3am sunday night/monday morning, with 30 minute cat naps on the couch about every 12 hours or so.
Damn that EQ addiction. I notice I'm not the only one here that had one. :) |
Hmm... I don't know definite times, but I'd say easily 10 hours of playing... many, many times I've noticed the sun coming up, with me thinking it was still 11ish... Starcraft, Diablo, D2, and Counterstrike... damn you all!
Anyone seen screenshots for halflife 2? I can already sense my grades dropping... |
weeks at a time i used to play diablo 2 almost 24 7. i got fired from my job, lost my gf, didnt talk to my family, never seen most of my friends, lived in my freinds beroom, and ate 1000's of stacker 2s (it was when they 1st came out). but at 1 time i would have to say it was at least 4 or 5 days playing d2. people used to msg me (my name was ed_templton) and ask me if i ever slept. i thought many of times i was having a heart attack from the stacker 2. man i hated that game (when i say hated i mean loved).
o and i forgot about the times the ladder reseted, those were the longest streaks EVER! |
recently played Minesweeper for 10 hours.(jk)
i did play kellyslaters pro surfer for a long time... about 12hours. such a good game... but now my arms are dead. |
Some of you people are crazy!! :D
For me, probably the most is about 7 hours. That was quite a few years ago. Nowadays, I just don't have much time to spend on playing games. Not to mention that there also aren't that many good titles out right now. So my interest has lowered. When a good game does come out, I do try to make sure that I spend time playing it and finishing it as well. Just not all in one sitting tough :D |

I was addicted to playing Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot. I ranged anywhere from 12 to 20 hours plus.
Last night I started playing EQ at 4pm and didn't get off untill 630am. Those LDoN adventures are addicting. Hehe i'm writing this while my cleric is in trader mode in the bazaar.
I've play BF1942 DC for a good 9 hours.
I've been to several 72 and 48 hour LANs where I've stayed up the whole stretch, and I've sat down and played several games from start to finish out of the box. Not so much anymore though. Damn school occupies too much time these days...
right now playing bf1942, played sunday morning till monday morning, then slept 2 hours ,didnt go to my 2nd job stayed home and played till tuesday morning lol, bf1942 is the bomb!
several all-nighters with FF II on SNES. But, nothing can top the first two days after I discovered the pure gaming joy of The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past.
Hrm played DAoC till about 6AM for a couple nights
All day and nighter (1 1/2 days) playing The Legend of Zelda for NES. Man, those were the good old days. Stay up all night on the weekends playing video games. Wish I were a kid again
I've played EQ from 7pm (friday) to 1am (monday). Had to take the usual get chips/soday and pee breaks but other then that all you could see is a blue light flashing from my room. EQ was the bomb back in the day....

hmm, The longest I played a video game was probaly 18 hours (used to play everquest which I regret now), However, I used to live next to a friend who played EQ I swear he played for 65 + hours straight I just checked every 2 hours waiting for his light in his room with his comp to go off 2 days later its still on, Im sitting there thinking what the hell is he on?
12 straight hours of sim city 3000 with my friend
that was time not well wasted |
24hours straight at a LAN party. so great.
I stayed up 2 days straight then a couple hours of sleep then another day playing Super Mario World when it first came out. I was like 9 at the time, and ended up getting a nosebleed because of blood pressure or something. Scared the hell out of my parents though, so was kind of worth it.
The cyberathelete professional league (www.thecpl.com) hosts wicked 5 day LAN parties...once in the summer and once in the winter. The CPL parties remind me of E3 with a big LAN attached.
I wasted almost 36 hours of my life play Star Wars Galaxies(or should I say the sims?)
quake 1
in 1998 i played quakeworld from friday 1pm till saturday 4pm
funny part here is that i didnt leave work ;) |
I'm not sure what's the longest I've played...but it was probably around 12 hrs, when a friend let me borrow his SNES with Super Mario World. :)
Diablo II was my sleep killer, I would play it till 3 am every day then load it up at work and play it most of the day through got through it twice before the expansion came out the finished it again.
Got to love the Pally |
Counterstrike with friends, 9 in the morning till 3-4 at night for weeks at a time. This was when we first got into it.
I played Unreal Tournament Online for 15 hours straight. When it was all done, I was suprised at how much time had past. I thought I had only been playing for an hour or two. I guess I should have looked out the window more.
The day I bought Thief 2 the metal age.
I started at 4 pm then look at the clock and it was 5:30 am. |
Tribescon.
think like 15 hours diablo 2
For me it would have to be about 14 hours for Baldur's Gate. Damn that game was awesome.
Not sure of the length of time, but the longest game I've played @ night was single player Half-life.
48 hours playing Phantasy Star Online on Xbox Live.
I believe the longest for me was about 24 hours, i start playing those FPS's and i lose track of time
I just made my limit the other night, 13 hours of Quake 3 tourny

EDIT: Oh yeah, this was during the raving days. so i would drop some E and go run around Norrath all day listening to trance on my laptop, and when you drop E, you tweek for days easily. |
Some obscene amount of time on CS
Probably in the area of 15 hours, i just socialise at LANs now :p |
I have been up for more than 27 hours playing C&C generals: Zero on a LAN... That will seriously kill you...

Gran Turismo 3, Res. Evil, and Silent Hill has cost me many gaming hours. My top would be anywhere between 10-12 hours in one sitting, only one toilet break and munchie run.
I have a bit of a compulsive personality that causes me to play games that I become addicted to straight through to their conclusions. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and KOTOR (xbox) are two of the games the I played every waking moment until I beat them which would normally include 12-16 hour binges. The most addicted I had ever been to any video game was Quake on PC. That remains my favorite game and I can't tell you how many 1000s of hours I devoted to it. I would still play today if others were interested.
when the first gran turismo came out, i remember taht i stayed up with no washroom breaks or eating breaks for 9 hours straight, i can't believe that i even did that
Ah geeze, there are so many games that I can marathon play it's not even funny. I've gone probably 18 hours on a few final fantasy games. I've went about 8 hours playing Dynasty Warriors 4 (I have no idea how I kept my sanity). These are the wonders of being a jobless college student. Unfortunately that means a lack of money though, which I tend to dislike.
14 hours, I was playing worms with 3 friends. We all dreamt about worms that night....
~5 hour playing a F1 racing sim. Me and a friend simulated a whole racing weekend, including training, warm-up etc. and finally the 2 hour race - I won :) |
hmmm...around 24ish hours playing Baldur's Gate 2. As a kid, I don't think I ever played more than 3 or 4 hours of games at a time--Mom always kicked us outside after a few hours.
on new year's eve two years ago, i play metal gear solid from 4 pm to 2:30 in the morning only taking a break for supper. i started playing it the day before and got pretty far in it. so i beat it on new year's eve. i beat the game in only two days
played*
if lan parties count we had a good 20 hours of straight game playing, god we were wrecked after that :D
Quote:
me and a friend started silent hill 2 around 6-7pm and didn't go to sleep till we beat it at 5 in the morning. so that makes it about 10-11 hrs.
hmm lets see.. tanking on mountain dew and mini thins.. two friends of mine and I stayed up for two weeks straight..
but we slept for a straight 72 or so hours after wards. let me tell ya.. near the end we were seeing all sorts of shit. and half that time was with out food. you dont want to see a person trying to go to the bathroom with nothing but liquids for two weeks straight. we played total annihilation, wc2, and delta force landwarrior. oh gods i still have nightmares about it.. ahh the joys of youth. now with diablo lod i still stay up all night.. go to work crash.. wake up after 2 hours of sleep and play again.. then the weekend gets here.. I put a stop to that.. cuz litterally i was missing out on the growth of my kids and my wife put it plainly that .. well she was a bit lonely.. lol.. i play spareingly.. i gave a crap load of stuff to someone on tis forum.. just the other day.. was in irc and met them in a game lol. (sorry if i cant remember who you were.. im really tired still from that day) |
31 hour LAN stint with Soldier of Fortune. Took a lot of soda, and even more aspirin.
Till 4:30am starting @ around 9-10pm
The longest I ever played Everquest was around 18 hrs one day when the wife was out of town with the kids. Four or five hours is the most I can do at any one sitting these days. I just get too bored with it.
Any HALO fans out there!!?!! :D Thought so. When I first got it I played it all the way thru. Took 11 hours. Second time on harder level took 5 hours. Go figure. I think i was too blown away by the game at first but after that I wanted to slaughter the Flood.
