Zelda Bonus Disc with Gamecube's a Reality!
For a while, there were rumors that a bonus disc containing the original Zelda, Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask was going to be available with the purchase of a Gamecube. Now, it seems that the rumors are true. IGN Cube has confirmed it to be true and has some artwork of the package along with the details. There is no word on a release date at this time.
Hopefully, this will also help out with the losses that Nintendo posted earlier... Link to story on GRW... Now...to figure out if they'll be selling this seperately like the OOT/MQ disc or not... :D Oh, happy day... |
thats fucking cool, but i already have a gamecube, i hope i can get my hands on that.
This is great news!
Looks like its packaged in the box with the gamecube... that is lame for people who already own one. But I can see why they would do it with Xbox having 2 games packaged with their holiday bundle and Sony giving away games with their online package for christmas they have to compete to sell new units.
This should boost sales quite a bit with price drop and all.
cool, though, i have enough zelda from the bonus disc i got with preordering Windwaker. Nintendo is starting their more aggressive marketing strategy now. It's nice to see. Hopefully they can salvage their image with the public in the next year and a half before the new system comes out.
hopefully they update the graphics or something, I've honestly had my fair share of NES zelda games (I still play them a lot), so I need something special to keep my attention...
I'd actually buy a brand new Cube if the only way to get this disc(other then Ebay) is buy getting the bundle. Hopefully Nintendo has a way for current Cube owners to get in on this great great product. :)
Ill take what they want to give, although small updates (resolution, extras) stuff like that is always welcome.
oh my god i think i just blacked out!!!

I'd murder if they fucked with the graphics! Zelda is classic all the way, I STILL remember waiting in the car as my brother happed in with that gold cartage. Ahh...those were the days :D |
I hope they'll make it available to those who already own a GameCube like myself. If so, I will definately purchase it.
What are you guys going to do to get this game...
gah, maybe now i will have to buy a gamecube to finish my tri gaming system
YAY!!
i´m in the box seat for this one. i´m yet to purchase a cube, and now i´ll definitely wait for this combo. thanks for the confirmation. |
heh...i'll probably just end up buying it off ebay
or just buy the new Gamecube and bonus disk and sell the GCN on ebay. might get you some extra money just be sure to say Zelda bonus disk isn't included....
Now instead of having to buy another GameCube, I need to either subscribe to Nintendo Power (used to subscribe, never liked it much) or register some games which I probably won't purchase (except maybe Mario Kart). I really wish Nintendo would just sell the disc separately as a game instead of putting its customers through such difficult means of obtaining the collection.
Although thinking it over, I guess the supscription will only cost $20, which is well worth it for the collection. |
Yeah, I'm going with the subscription...it's only 20 bucks. I don't care much for that magazine, but I'm sure my lil bro would like it, and I get the free zelda bonus disk :)
1) Already got a Gamecube.
2) I hate Nintendo Power, plus why would I need it when I already have a 2-year subscription to EGM and a free subscription to GamePro? 3) I'm only going to buy Mario Kart: Double Dash, plus I don't have a GBA so I couldn't buy those other offered games if I wanted to. I think I'm just going to talk my lil' cousin into getting a Gamecube for Christmas, then buy it from him at a cheap-to-reasonably-ranged price. |
What do you think the odds of finding a copy on eBay will be on the 26th? And even then would it be cheaper to buy the mag subscription?
hummm..... |

Zelda mother Fing rules. Gosh darn Link is the shit. The sword slashing, hookshot, and magic. Fuck yes!
It would suck if they charge for the game and the subscription like they do with some other games they sell with Nintendo Power. A lot of people would just be fucken pissed in that scenario.

Its a subscription bonus... |
It's this kind of stuff that makes me REALLY want a gamecube.
I know I can't afford one though. But oh man... I'd love a GC and that disc. Great idea on Nintendo's side. They've got a goldmine there. |
4 games for 99 bucks and it includes a free gamecube and controller!!?? I'm buyin it even though I already have a GC...
Is that every Zelda game except for Link to the Past?
They just reissued that on the GBA, so that's probably why its not on the disk. I have a GC, wonder if I could get two pin #s off those 5 games from a rental store, and register it online and have it sent to me. I'll probably feel too bad about it. |
I'll definitely be going the Nintendo Power route.
I'd pay $20 for the bonus disc alone so I'm out nothing even if I never look at the magazines once. |
