Zelda Bonus Disc with Gamecube's a Reality!
For a while, there were rumors that a bonus disc containing the original Zelda, Adventures of Link, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask was going to be available with the purchase of a Gamecube. Now, it seems that the rumors are true. IGN Cube has confirmed it to be true and has some artwork of the package along with the details. There is no word on a release date at this time.
Hopefully, this will also help out with the losses that Nintendo posted earlier... Link to story on GRW... Now...to figure out if they'll be selling this seperately like the OOT/MQ disc or not... Oh, happy day... |

Looks like its packaged in the box with the gamecube... that is lame for people who already own one. But I can see why they would do it with Xbox having 2 games packaged with their holiday bundle and Sony giving away games with their online package for christmas they have to compete to sell new units.

cool, though, i have enough zelda from the bonus disc i got with preordering Windwaker. Nintendo is starting their more aggressive marketing strategy now. It's nice to see. Hopefully they can salvage their image with the public in the next year and a half before the new system comes out.

I hope they'll make it available to those who already own a GameCube like myself. If so, I will definately purchase it.

Now instead of having to buy another GameCube, I need to either subscribe to Nintendo Power (used to subscribe, never liked it much) or register some games which I probably won't purchase (except maybe Mario Kart). I really wish Nintendo would just sell the disc separately as a game instead of putting its customers through such difficult means of obtaining the collection.
Although thinking it over, I guess the supscription will only cost $20, which is well worth it for the collection. |

1) Already got a Gamecube.
2) I hate Nintendo Power, plus why would I need it when I already have a 2-year subscription to EGM and a free subscription to GamePro? 3) I'm only going to buy Mario Kart: Double Dash, plus I don't have a GBA so I couldn't buy those other offered games if I wanted to. I think I'm just going to talk my lil' cousin into getting a Gamecube for Christmas, then buy it from him at a cheap-to-reasonably-ranged price.

Is that every Zelda game except for Link to the Past?
They just reissued that on the GBA, so that's probably why its not on the disk. I have a GC, wonder if I could get two pin #s off those 5 games from a rental store, and register it online and have it sent to me. I'll probably feel too bad about it. |
