Just finished No One Lives Forever!!! Have YOU played it & what are YOUR thoughts???

Hey there...I just finished playing No One Lives Forever...the first one...it is one of my favorite games of all...and it was real long too...I thought I was close to the end of the game when I was REALLY a bit toward the middle of it...I can't wait to play No One Lives Forever 2...

PLZ DO NOT mention anything concerning NOLF2 cause I have not played it yet and I don't want anything spoiled...if you spoil the game for me then I will have to send Cate Archer to smack you until your death!!!

Now...has anyone else played this game yet??? What are YOUR thoughts on it??? I'd have to say that it is up there with Half-Life and Serious Sam and Jedi Outcast/Academy...I love computer games!!! THANX
C'YA ?:-D

I agree, definately a GREAT series.
A very original one at that too, just oozing style.

The thing I liked about the series most, is that the scaling on everything was perfect. Ceilings, objects, stairs, etc, everything was spot on, the way it should be.
And it helps a a lot to set realism and atmosphere for both games.

They are action packed, filled with humor, mystery, and a cool dare I say 'austin powers' feel.

If you liked the first, the second is hundreds of times better.
Top notch graphics engine, and it runs beautifully for me on full settings. And im on a p4 2 ghz, GF3, 512 ram.

One of the better action game series of all time. Both games are successful blends of action, comedy and (to a much lesser extent) drama. Enjoy number two - and keep your eyes open for Contract J.A.C.K., a prequel to NOLF2. Among the features...

* Explore the dark side of the No One Lives Forever universe as John Jack, a rugged anti-hero in the services of H.A.R.M.
* Employ a deadly arsenal including the Bacalov Corrector, the prototype Cyclone Laser Rifle and powerful C4 charges.
Ride into battle on vehicles with mounted weaponry.
* Compete online in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Demolition, and Doomsday modes.
* Create 'mods' and share them online using a complete suite of developer mod-making tools.
* Stand-alone engine does not require players to own NOLF1 or NOLF2.
* Play through the events occurring immediately after NOLF1 and trigger the events found in NOLF2.

Great game. One of the few that I played all the way through.

NOLF2 looks great too. Maybe I'll get it after I get Tron 2.0.

Played NOLF2 and loved it. My favorite is when a battle starts and the old-school funny spy music starts playing! Just like in the movies. Graphics are good and gadgets are cool.

I decided to play NOLF again...I'm stuck in the very same spot I was stuck last time...I have NO IDEA how I figured it out last time either...OK...I'm on Berlin By Night, Scene 2...It's the one that you gotta find those damn barrels and set them to go BOOM!!! I've found the two that I found last time but I forgot where that last one was...the one's I have are:
1. There's one by the library...it's the barrels closest to where you meet the guy after you get all your objectives completed
2. The room next to the room with those two blue machines...they look like generators or something
3. I have NO IDEA...BUT...I can hear it when I'm in the kitchen...I heard it last time in the kitchen too so it's in the same spot...

Anyone know where it might be??? It drove me crazy lawst time and it's driving me crazy once again

corking series. although i find it's a bit too easy to just go nuts with an AK if the stealth thing doesn't quite work.

suppose it's just like james bond in that regard, he sneaks for five seconds till he fucks up and gets caught then nicks someone's machine gun and goes nuts.

The first game is one of my favorite games of all time, favorite single-player FPS for sure. NOLF2 was good too...a bit short but otherwise excellent. (nothin like shooting mimes from a tricycle)

flamingdog 02-07-2004 10:01 AM

"LOOK OUT FOR THE BULLETS!"

*bump*

jujueye 02-07-2004 12:31 PM

I played NOLF2 before NOLF, and just loved them both. The humor in them is just so original, as is the style. Nobody can touch that series for its great mix of fps, fun, and even multiplayer. I can say this: if you liked NOLF, you will love NOLF2. GO BUY IT TODAY! Here are some fo the changes (and no spoilers)

Shorter cut scenes
Better graphics (duh!)
Same gadgets throughout game
MORE humor
Weapon aim and use more efficient
Better story and execution

I still play online occasionally, too.
