What game(s) has the best intro??

My favorites:
1) Mohaa
2) Battlefeild 1942
3) Empire Earth (even though it wasnt that good of a game)

FF8 had a good intro

Homeworld

Diablo II or RTCW. Anything with cinematics that's engaging and feels like the opening of a film gets my vote.

Age of Mythology - nuff said

I second ff8. The intro was just plain awesome.

havent seen it, but the AOE 2 intro kicked some serious ass.

When it came out, Syndicate (Bullfrog/EA) had a really impressive intro. It still ranks as one of my favorites.

Crusader: No Regret had an awesome intro.

Going back to the 8-bit days, the opening of Ninja Gaiden sticks with me even today. DOA XBV's is pretty fun to look at, too.:D

Fallout, both 1 & 2.

FF8 ('Final Fantasy 8')
RTCW ('Return to Castle Wolfenstein')
DOTT ('Day of the Tentacle' "BACK TO THE MANSION!" lol )

Diablo 2 definitely. Nothing like skeletons popping out of the ground to put you in the mood.

Whoa, yes, I can't believe I forgot all those Lucas Arts adventure games. The intros are usually pretty amusing. Way ahead of its time.

Battlefield 1942's intro made me stand up at attention!

Bermuda Syndrome had a cool intro. I guess it's a kinda rare game now so if you missed it well it contains air combat, a thumping soundtrack, a t-rex being decapitated by an old 1940's fighter plane and a topless chick, woohoo!

Freelancer and MOO3 had really good opening movies.

Soul Caliber 2. Definitely nifty.

Syndicate Wars - cool music.
Terranova - also a fabulous game.
First Encounters.
Gran Turismo 3 - I love that Feeder track.

totally agree.
that is still the most memorable intro to any game i´ve ever played.
i was, however, a little disappointed when all of the games graphics weren´t as spectacular... but hey, that would be a little difficult huh.

That one got a good bit of awards. It's good stuff.

1) FF8 - Great intro. Great music. It had great foreshadowing of some of the major players in the game. The way everything was blended together was amazing and to this day I still love it.

2) FFX - The intro helped me fuel my fire for the game. The intro left me with so many questions and made me want to have them answered by getting to that point in the game. Plus the music just fits the tone of that scene perfectly

Final Fantasy 8 takes it for me.

Oh, I forgot about FFX! Man, that game has an insanely awesome intro/beginning sequence. The entire time that you're in Zanarkand (I think that's what it's called, been a LONG time since I played that game) at the beginning it's just badass after badass because you're with Auron. Great music too; it doubles as the end-boss music, which was equally as badass.

FF VIII - great scenematics, great music.
Tekken 3 - awesome intro, it got me ready to play the game.
Metal Gear Solid (PSOne and PS2) - both games had an amazing intro.
Gran Turismo 1, 2, 3
*1 - to see so many cars in a game got me excited
*2 - to see more cars than the first one
*3 - to see the intro made out of in game graphics, i almost ejaculated.
