I like the opening theme tune from Chrono Cross.
the opening theme music from FF8 But my favorite would have to be the intro song to Dics World II Mortality Bytes, 'Thats Death' I sing that thing to myself all the time. Incidentally if anyone knows where I can find that for download I would be eternaly grateful

LucasArts has a soundtrack CD, which has music from Grim Fandango, Outlaws and more. It's friggin' amazing - and I've been listening to it steadily at work for two weeks now...

Icewind Dale...
Pure and simple, that game has some of the best music I've ever heard in any video game. I'd pick that soundtrack as a whole over any other game soundtrack.

I gotta say I really like the Metroid (NES) soundtrack
More nostalgia than anything. Also, the music from FF VII is awesome. Go find Juno Reactor, they have an album from that game (Juno Reactor is also a part of the story in FFVII--where Sephiroth's mom is)

"A tale of souls,
Eternally retold..." (or something like that) I'm referring to the intro movie of the Playstation1 version of Soul Blade. If you've never seen it, I recommend renting that game solely for that intro (well, it's a good game, too!). That movie is a work of art.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the greatest in-game music of all time, the Interstate '76 soundtrack! I coped that sucker to eight-track and rode it around town in my muscle car for months after I got that game. In fact, the music has probably had more impact on me than the game itself. Fantastic.
They even released a soundtrack CD, which included snippets of the jive-talkin' dialogue as all the trendy movie soundtracks do these days. Check it out: http://altpop.com/stc/reviews/i76.htm A lot of the tracks can be found at various reputable networks by searching under Bullmark. Classic, classic stuff. |
