The thread is openended, of course we all have lives outside of it,
I will at least update everyday,
this will give all the other a chance to read what's up and interact and respond.
Sometimes this will be more often,
it depends on my ability to update and the flow of the story and who I am interacting with.

Please do not speak for or describe the actions for anyone else except yourselves,
you can't do that in real life nor can you do it here.
(Unless your charm spell works, then that is a whole different matter.;))

Remember that this is more for character development and the storyline,
so I won't be emphasizing game mechanics as much if at all.
If you play fair, I play fair,
and I'll try to give you the benefit of the doubt.

If anyone is missing for awhile, there character will be "outted".
(fall in a pit, disappearing, whatever)
Then they will be out of the way, until the are found.
Anyone who is "outted" needs to PM me, to note they want to play again.

Just thought I'd lay out my character description here, in case the GM or anyone else would like to know more about him:

Name: Vinoh Madren
Race: Human
Class: Mind mage (master psychic)
Alignment: Scrupulous (Palladium system)
Age: 25
Experience level: 3rd

Physical description: Average build and height, with bald head and grey eyes. Wears light to dark grey travel robes and carries a knapsack. A wooden club hangs at his side.

Background: Exhibiting psychic powers at a young age, Vinoh was presented to the Mind's Eye Guild, who is dedicated to the development and understanding of mental powers. While traditionally viewed with fear and suspicion, psychics of this guild always defended the realm from any threats and proved to be invaluable when dealing with paranormal occurances, which eventually earned them the trust of most people.

Vinoh quickly learned to master most low level abilities and spent the better part of a decade in honing his powers and wordly skills. Having recently been given the informal title of "potential", which denotes those wishing to become full-fledged mind mages, Vinoh was asked by his Guildmaster to respond to the Duke's summons, both as a test of his courage and dedication, as well as a way to develop his powers even further.

Powers: Although psychic powers are very personal and vary greatly from one person to the next, Vinoh apparently tends to exhibit a combination of sensitive and physical powers, mostly favoring the former. He has minor healing abilities, but these are barely developped. He is a fair fighter, but his physical skills mostly involve defensive combat, as Vinoh relies primarly on his mental abilities.

Motivation: Desire for knowledge
Allies: Mind's Eye Guild
Enemies: None, although psychics and mages rarely get along, due to opposing power sources and philosophies.

Equipment: Traveling robes, traveling boots, knapsack, rope, flint, sleeping/meditation mat, food for 2 days, water skin, soap, pendant with guild crest, wooden battle club.

Redravin...Do you think we should all have/create such detailed bios..or at least list what we are carrying? How close to "realistic" do we want to be?

Also, do you mind communication between participants in PMs or do you want everything down in the OOC or RPG threads?

I am fine either way, on communication.

The bios help everyone get a handle on the game.
It isn't necesary to tell everything but an outline is very useful.

I didn't mean for my own bio to serve as a template for others, it's just that I like to write and I guess I got carried away with the details...

Don't worry about it Bob, the details were great. For my character I will eventually write up a little history or just details about the character including what he has to adventure with...

I really hope they re-open the Tilted Roleplaying section. It would make keeping track of The Tomb OOC and IC sections MUCH easier.

On another note, I would *really* like to play in the game, but it's already pretty far into it, and I don't know if it'd be alright for me to enter. Additionally, there is a large wealth of people already involved -- I don't want to burden.

I would like to RP..there or anywhere, though.

Well, a lot of players who started off with the rest of us don't seem to be there anymore, so maybe you could take over a character, or create one and say he/she arrived late.

Since we're still at the castle, I think you could join in without any problems. PM redravin!

You certainly made quite a commotion when you arrived. It was a good entrance-- I'm impressed and want to see more! (Plus you've allready got Gell's attention-- he'll be dissapointed if you leave. ;) )

Yep, half-orc.. same as Gell. (Tried to hint at that when I said I saw someone 'similar'). :)

Great entrance Tower...sorry for the "welcome" but I was really suprised everyone's characters just figured that it was an everyday occurance and decided to accept that this prisoner orc was all of a sudden part of our group.

I wanted to try to get you to prove your innocence or trust, or..whatever. Gell calling you "brother" or "friend" or something would have done it but until then, I don't think my character would have let up.

Thanks for the welcome, Forgotten and Cubby. Don't worry about the giving me a hard time, I actually thought it was pretty cool, and it adds mystery to my character..hehe.

Anyways, this should be a fun game.

Just an FYI to everyone that as of end of day today PST I'll be incommunicato for a day or so then will potentially have limited access for a couple of weeks. I'm off to a client in the UK and I'm not sure of interet access. I should have some at the hotel room so probably not a problem but in case not, hopefully my character isn't too damaged by the time I return.

I'd also like to note that since I only have Internet access at work, anything said or done to my character will not be answered/reacted to by yours truly on weeknights and weekends.

Have you ever seen a post as big as my last one that was actually written up from scratch :D

I am very new to rp games but am enjoying it very much. I love the fact you don't know what is going to happen next and learning more about each character as time goes on. Forgive my mistakes I may make (for ex: thinking Sarael was in the inn when I arrived....where the heck did he go to anyways?) as I am still learning!
I have a question for redravin. How are we to deal with important characters that "slip away" and who are carrying something we will need later. I'm speaking specifically of arael's character Orpheon who was in charge of the two scrolls given in the castle. If we have lost that character - how shall we regain the scrolls?

Minx, welcome to the game! Don't worry about knowing what you are doing, just have fun. As for characters that aren't around right now...it is somewhat of a problem at times (such as when I started to set a broken arm and then couldn't log on for over a week..and found myself coming back to an army of undead) but for the most part just deal with whatever is currently occuring and feel free to throw some twists into the plot. Set your character's mood and try to stick to it. I know I've already strayed somewhat from what I wanted to but I think I can pull Thantos back.

I am happy you all let me into the group, as I said I'm a rookie though so go easy on me!
I liked the idea mentioned earlier about bios....especially since the numbers have dropped rather dramatically from the start of the game.
For anyone interested this is D'Aleen in a nutshell...

Name - pronounced "da leen"
Race - elf (with some human bloodline due to her ancestor Aine *a godess of old Ireland* and her attraction to human men lol)
Age - 25 (human years...much much older in elvin)
Powers - in tune with nature, can speak with the animals and has a limited ability to converse with trees; in tune with the elements (slight magic allowing her to create fog, mist, small storms, etc.); elves see very well in the dark (may come in handy!)
Weapons - very skilled with a bow/arrows; carries a long silver dagger strapped to her thigh in case of close combat - unfortunately elves tend to be slight and rather delicate despite being fierce warriors
Mood/character - always ready with a smile and a kind word for everyone but there is an underlying sadness to her; trusting (too much perhaps) and very compassionate with an open heart and ear

Sadly, post-college this year I've taken on a full time (usually 10 hour days though) job, and this leaves me little time for little else, especially my friends/social life and most importantly, girlfriend.

Obviously, everything is stressed right now, and I find myself with very limited time to actually roleplay. Sadly I do not want to quit, but I'm going to because I can't actively participate as much as I would like. It's a trade off between seeing my friends in real life or spending the time to sit down and roleplay, and roleplaying didn't make the cut.

Sorry to leave so unexpectedly, and I wish you all the best. I had fun in my short duration, and I hope that maybe someother time I can once again join the RP ranks here on Tilted Forum (and if another RP should start up later on, please, shoot me an email! JShidell@Charter.net ;))

Hey - redravin could always have the prison guards show up in the middle of the night and haul him off. That way, he would still have the potential to come back. And it would give Thantos something to gloat about! lol

Hey all Cubby here..posting under my wife's login (cause it is too difficult on this website to log out and log back in under a different name). Sorry for the delay (It's only been 3 days but a lot sure has happened [I haven't checked the actual RPG yet but I'll get to that next]). I was indeed in the UK with limited access and then was back for a week at work and now I am just on vacation. This week spending time with my son (who turns 1 year old in 2 weeks) and my wife before she goes back to work takes priority. I will try to log on once a day and check things but there is no guarantee..After that I'm back at work and should have time to check the RPG during work.

Welcome back Rogue, and from these last couple of messages, I'm not necessarily looking forward to reading this RPG (apparently I'm old and stale and getting moldy?)

A little note here Cubby....as far as your getting your steed back....I'll leave that one up to you. If you choose to discover your horse in the herd....more power to you! I think it would be neat as you had him at the start. I was going to incorporate my own horse in right from the beginning but then realized that everyone else was on foot so thought better of it.

Yeah I was thinking of doing just that...Minx, but I'm not sure..I'm thinking a Knight who's continually looking for his horse (ie. perhaps the mind control left him a little loopy?) might be fun to play. I'm still considering what to do...you, will have to wait an see.

By the way, I love your avatar. I have turned off avatars while I'm at work so I only get to see them when I'm at home on my wife's account. I think I'll have to figure out if I have enough posts to get one..I just added one before the crash and haven't had a chance to see how many posts I have since.

Would it be too late for a newcomer to show up? I've never tried anything like this before, but after reading through the quest, I think I get idea and if it's all right, I'll introduce myself in the quest at the next appropriate time.

I'm new to doing the rp thing too rockzilla and I don't think there is any trouble with having someone new show up....perhaps pm rogue, let him know and he can work you into the story. Or hell, do what Tower did and just stumble upon us!

Ok all, just wondering what we do during the days that we're not TFP'ing or RPG'ing.. Do we work or do other extra curricular activities?

I'm a meat processor, bit of a brain numbing job, but it's work and it pays well :)

Normally I work in the kitchen of a homeless shelter, but I'm on the injured list right now with a hernia, my surgery is about a month from now and not being able to work or move around is rapidly driving me crazy, good thing I found TFP.

Friends and I play Baldur's Gate II on a LAN.. when im not working ( College is over for summer of course )

I work in the computer programming (consulting) industry so I'm on the computer all the time. When I'm at home, or on weekends I spend time with my wife and son which is why I often don't respond on the weekends. I ususally check from work but if there is a busy work day then sometimes I can't check then either.

I would love to have the time to play a few more video games at home but just don't have the time.

There is something other than TFP? :D
No, seriously...yup - gotta day job! Technically speaking I'm an exec secretary lol...ya - believe it or not! All it means really is that I do all the paperwork end of running a company and I have 16 guys (on any given day) crying in my office! I'm just lucky enough that I work in such a casual office and I have complete freedom with what I do I have no-one looking over my shoulder ever so I am free to do what I will.
So, as far as the game (and for that matter TFP in general) goes I am pretty much logged on all the time I'm at work (I blip back and forth between fun & work) and after that I usually log on late in the evenings after my kids are settled in for the night.
Try to do stuff on the weekends but as a single Mum life is kinda busy for me! :)
