Where do you download your demos?

Well, now i have a pretty fast internet connection, and i'd love to get my hands on some of those big ol demo's. So, where do you guys download them from? Any good sites that have direct links, easy to follow etc? Please post em here! :) thanks

(i searched about this, didnt find anything, and i didnt think this is a "warez" thing, right?)

Fileplanet has them..but the lines suck

I use Fileplanet, but I subscribe to it. It's $6 a month. You get instant access, but to be honest, I'm probably gonna cancel it soon. $72 a year is a bit steep. I might download 1 or 2 demos a month at most.

I just get the file name off file planet and download it off kazaa or another P2P file sharing program.

3dgamers gets my vote,

Always available and they provide bit torrent links to make it even faster

Zello 09-06-2003 09:30 PM

glophead has the right idea. Except I use the filename and put it into google and download from a site there. No use waiting in line on fileplanet.

Fileplanet. I'll usually start it, and then leave the computer for the estimated amount of time it say that I have to wait in line.

I used to get all the newer and popular ones from http://www.gigex.com/general/topgames/ when I had broadband. Not sure how good they are now.

Cool, thanks for the links guys, very helpful.

I personally use Fileplanet most of the time. 20 minute lines or so don't really bother me.

I find that FilePlanet is generally pretty constant with their download speeds even during peak times. Other sites might bog down quite a bit more, but at fileplanet I'll almost always get at least 300 or so.

though generally speaking, I don't go to Fileplanet just to look for downloads for new demos. I visit sites like homelan or voodoo extreme for gaming news, and if I see a demo listed that interests me I'm open to using whatever mirrors they might have listed.

Action Trip although it is a $30 a year was the best site I found with fast downloads. Plus you get free babe of the day. Has a console and PC site.

Same here, the 3dgamers BT links always are much faster than waiting at file planet.

ducati999 09-16-2003 09:59 AM

fileplanet......i suscribe just beacuse i hate waiting like 4 hours to get a patch when it first comes out....

flamingdog 09-16-2003 10:54 AM

I tend to just go to the official site of a game i want a demo of. It's easier than fucking about with these stupid sites that just want to prise cash out of your pockets.

nothingx 09-16-2003 12:31 PM

Psssh... demos...

AlCap0wn 09-16-2003 01:15 PM

Fileplant to harvest the filename, then hop over to FileMirrors for a listing of FTPs. :)
