Whose the character to beat? Since I got it I have played as Spawn because he is a sentimental favorite. Who do you think is the best fighter? I would vote Spawn but what do you think? Thanks.

I have the cube version. From what I have read, all three exclusive characters are somewhat overpowered in their own ways. I use Link a lot in 1p mode because he is way better than anyone else at chucking people out of the ring.
Guardimpact.com put up this chart, but that's all relative. I would say I am probably best w/ Seung Mina and worst against Cassandra right now. |

I think Ivy is hard as hell to beat if played well. Same with Cervantes. Easiest people to beat are prolly Yoshimitsu and Astaroth.

I've been getting pretty good with Astaroth lately. He's a really different character to play when considering that my old favorite was Kilik. Spawn can be a pain the ass too if played correctly.

For me Talim and Xianghua are the best. they are supper fast but not too strong.

No offense, I will kill you all with Astaroth. I have *almost* re-mastered and mastered all the old and new characters (respectively), but the only person I am having trouble fighting with an against is Necrid, but only because his god**** weapon isn't always visable, the bastard.

Kilik, all the way. He has a good mix of both long and short range attacks.
I will agree that the big guys (Spawn, Astaroth, etc.) are tough when played well. The same with Ivy and Nightmare. This game is the best thing to happen to the xBox, ever.

I have a special bond with Talim. The first time I played Soul Calibur 2 in arcades, I picked her on accident at the character select screen. However, I soon found that I was pretty damn good with her, and that I really liked her style.
Personally, I own the cube version, and I still play mostly as Talim. Link's fun, especially when you use his Megaton Hammer, just because of how hard it hits people. |

I'm a master of mitsurugi.. anyone who comes into my house usually walks out 10 seconds later after sitting at the console with me.
its sad. I did have one guy in here play me who was pretty good.. still kicked him all over the ring though. |

Raphael schools on the machine players. Ivy is STILL tough for me to beat, a sequel later. Necrid is a whore, but like all the big guys, if you get inside you've likely got him. For fun, I play as Astaroth, Nightmare, and Link, since I've got the 'cube.

My fave Characters right now Are Xianghua, Ivy (She is fun as hell when you get good with her.. whip the shit out of people and they cant do a thing.) and Seung Mina. In fact I think i'll play right now..

I think Maxi is the easiest character to play, myself. My best characters were Cervantes, Sophitia, Maxi and oddly enough, Charade. Raphael wasn't too bad when I used him either.
