The worst game that I have EVER played is definitely Enter the Matrix. It is the only game that has made me so completely frustrated and annoyed, that I uninstalled it before even trying to beat it. An awful waste of time and disk space.

I thought X-Com:Apocalypse was alright, it's "successor" in the series was X-Com: Interceptor. Ack! Oh, and I'll mention (again) Postal 2. I have a friend who loves that game, and frankly I think he missed the reality boat a long time ago.
It occured to me that another game I played fits the bill. There was a game (a "flight simulation", though it could barely be called that) called Birds of Prey released in 1994 which put 40 planes on one 1.44MB diskette. The terrible flight dynamics (which could be expected, given the size of the game) and the crippling "day 9" bug made it misery, since it came from an era where technical support was a stock form letter (still is really) and reviewers never played it long enough to partake of it's inevitable collapse.

DOA: XBV
DOA: Volleyball was such a waste of 50 bucks for me. I haven't played it for any length of time after the first couple days i owned it. I probalby should have traded it in while it was worth something but didn't. Maybe I can get 5 dollars for it when Halo 2 comes out.

Wow, I gotta say, a lot of people seem to of never experienced truely a truely awful game, judging by a lot of the responses. My vote goes for Future Wars:Adventure in Time. It was one of the first pc games I ever bought, an adventure in the vein of KQ and the like. But wow, the plot sucked, the graphics sucked (even by the standard of the time) the sound sucked, and worst of all, the clickable 'hot spots' were only like 1 pixel wide...you'd see the key (if you were lucky) but you'd spend 30 minutes trying to find the right pixel to click on to pick it up.

Trust me Pellaz, Soul Fighter was horrible. Has to be on of, if not the worst game ever created.

Shadows of the Empire. That game was poo on stick. I couldn't save during the game and some of the levels were just plain stupid. While I'm at it, Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith. What a waste of time.

Daikatana was hideous, and Soul Fighter was also horrendous.
As for which is worse (and the worst), it's really like trying to compare an open cesspool with a rotting corpse; both are really, really bad, but is it even possible to call one worse than the other when both make you puke your guts out? Quote:

I would be hard pressed to say ANY Blizzard title sucked, especially StarCraft. This probably isn't the worst game ever, but Chrome really sucked. |

I would have to say Spelunker for NES. OMG!!! When I was younger I played it and could never get past the first level!!! Then, recently I tried it again thinking i might be better, but nooooooooo!!! I couldn't stand it. That stupid guy can't handle a fall of more than 1/4 his height......uggggg

star wars bounty hunter.
it was seriously little more than running aimlessly and repeatedly jamming the fire button over and over again. kinda pretty, sure, but the depth of gameplay barely rivals picking your nose. and that blaster noise... over and over and over again... shudder. |

I've found a new worst game: 'Bible Adventures' for the sega genesis. Not only does it have graphics that look like they were drawn by a retarded 5 year old with parkinsons disease, but there is only one piece of music, played with a lone triangle wave that is repeated over, and over and over and over again. The programming is abysmal, and when you collect a "power up" it quotes bible psalms at you. The only redeeming feature of this game is that you can throw babies in to rivers, if you are so inclined :P

There's two games I'd like to mention here that I have yet to see...
1) War Gods (Nintendo 64) - The absolute epitome of horrible launch games, and among the highest ranks of horrible games, period. 2) Awesome Possum (Sega Genesis) - In this epic classic (*rolls eyes*), you are a possum who is awesome because he collects cans and newspapers to recycle, all the while fighting enemies who choose to litter.
