Favorite 16-bit game of all time.
Mine would be a toss up between Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana. They both are really fun, have awesome stories, and the animation and work that was put into the games was amazing.

It's okay. Yeah, Legend Of Zelda: A link to the past was awesome. Best Zelda game so far in my opinion.
|
Super Mario World is my favorite game ever.

Herzog Zwei hands down, and original nintendo is 8 bit, SNES and genesis were 16. GBA is 32.

Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy III were a few of my all-time favorite games for SNES. I still play both of them every so often. I gotta give out props to DK Country though. That was just amazing at the time it came out. I remember Nintendo Power sending out a promo video about how it was made, etc.
For Genesis I really liked Toejam & Earl. There were a few other games I played on that system, but overall it didn't get nearly as much play as my SNES. |
For the sports guys out there, NHL Hockey '94 and World Series Baseball '95 for the Genesis.
ToeJam and Earl and Gunstar Heroes for non-sports. |
16-bit games are the best games ever created ;)
Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Zelda, and Super Mario RPG are my favourites, and I'm pretty sure FFIII would be, if I had ever had the chance to play it :( I'll buy it on eBay one of these days ;) |
It's such a tie between FF3 and Super Mario World. It depends on what mood I'm in, too.
Right now it's FF3 I'd rather play.... I'm in the mood for an RPG, and FF3(or FF6 if you're japanese) is to me the standard that all future final fantasies have been judged on- story and gameplay wise that is, and none has ever come close to making it. |
Contra 3.
|
super metroid, yep a side-scroller
|
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles Expansion
Shadow of the Beast I, II and III Golden Axe Earthworm Jim Good times they were.... |
Shoot. There's a lot of em. but probably Super Metroid. I played the hell out of that. I once beat it in an hour 15 gametime.
runners up being -Secret of Manna (I actually called the Nintendo Power tipline way back then and informed them of stuff they didn't have on their computers. They promised to send me a mag, but never did:( ) Final Fantasy 2 and 3 (US) Space Megaforce Castlevania 4 |
Super Metroid
FF3 Chrono trigger super mario world donkey kong street fighter 2 super r-type |
Super Metroid by far for me
|
Im gonna have to go with the old school platformers... Super Mario World, Sonic 2, and Bubsy... any of the above would work for me.
|
The Super Ninja Boys! That game was so crazy.
|
Chrono Trigger & Super Metroid.
Super Mario Kart also had a shit load of play time :D |
Super mario Cart. And any game in the Sonic series.
I beat Sonic two in like 1/2 an hour. :) |
tecmo super bowl!! woooo
super mario cart legend of zelda link to the past |
I have to go with earth worm jim just because it was so different
|
Tecmo Super Bowl was da shit!!!
|
mine has to be chrono trigger and front mission (JAP)
also secret of mana was good. |
Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy 3, Super Mario World, and Secret of Mana. That's about all I can think of right now. Super Mario World was the first game I got for the SNES(mainly because it came with it when I bought it) and I loved that game. I guess you could put Final Fantasy 2 on there, but 3 was so much better. If I had to pick one I would go with Chrono Trigger, amazing game.
|
FF3
Secret of Mana Chrono Trigger [i got every single ending ^_^] Super Mario World Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past Super Metroid Super Mario Kart Earthbound Castlevania [any and all of them] Contra 3 whew. that pretty much sums up my early teen years, right there. |
Super Metroid
FF VI Chrono Trigger Super Mario World Yoshi's Island Street Fighter II Contra III Link to the Past Sonic 3 Megaman X The list goes on |
Terranigma (Best realtime RPG ever!)
FF II & III (IV & VI) Chrono Trigger Secret of Mana Super Mario Kart Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island |

Also the original Madden for Genesis.... I got it for Christmas when we were in Florida... and my Genesis was in New Jersey.... It was a week of pure agony till I got home. |
Super Metriod and Street Fighter 2 Turbo
|
Sorry to be so boring, but Secret of Mana, most def! Bar that, the sonic series.
|
I'd have to say Chrono Trigger definitely. Donkey Kong Country also gets on the list, even though that was the only game to come out on SNES that was 32-bit. Super Metroid was amazing as well. Many publications still consider it to be the best game of all time. Electronic Gaming Monthly voted it the best game of all time in their 100th issue.
