who's into the mods for BF1942? I am thats for sure. Some of my current favorites are:
Desert Combat...modern day warfare at it's best Battlefiled 1982 ...cars and guns, what could be better? Galactic Conquest...wanna fly the Millenium Falcon? and Pirates...Yaargh! Here be all the scuttlebutt that be comin from the ships in port if you own the game, and have high speed internet, these mods are worth checking out, and the best part? they are free! if you think those are cool, theres more to check out here. I haven't tried them though, so I can't vouch for them

Great list... except you forgot to mention Eve of Destruction
Very cool vietnam based fighting. Too bad that with the 1.45 patch just released, a lot of these mods seem to be incompatible and stop working. |

haven't tried that one yet...been to the site a few times though...is it popular on the servers? I haven't put the new patch in yet, but with what you said, Im going to be a bit cautios about it...I would be an unhappy camper if the mods died, but then again, I am sure the developers will adjust for the update...no? maybe? let's hope. What mods do you know of that are not working with the new patch?

I'm a great desert Combat fan myself. It is awasome!
Too bad I've been lacking in keeping it up lately though... I should really get up to speed again...

Desert Combat is simply the best FPS mod I've ever played in my entire life. .39k is absolutely amazing. The only thing that I've seen come close to it is the Secret Weapons of World War II expansion for Battlefield as well, but it's not a mod, only an expansion. I love the Assault Rifle that the allies get in .39k.

The Special Ops layout weapon is my fave. It's a bit lighter, but it's an automatic and has a sweet scope, which can give better accuracy in zoom mode.
It's not as zoomed in as the sniper scope, but it's zoomed in enough with the nice scope retical included to give you a nice clean shot...and if you can squeeze out a headshot or two with it, they go down, regardless of the round size. I just wish the Special Ops layout came with grenades instead of explosion packs...good with the bad I guess

Well, at least the explosion packs are powerful as shit. Just one of those fuckers will take out any tank in the game. I like the Special Ops rifle too, but when proning on the ground and be stormed I prefer the assault rifle. I also enjoy the anti-tank rocket launchers. The Stinger one used for anti-aircraft is badass. Makes me feel like Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid.

The new DC version .40 has been released
(see desertcombat.com for more info on mirrors) Can anyone shed a light on the guided weapons? are there any and how do they work? I've seen them mentioned a couple of times and at least one (cruise missile) should be in .40 but I'm not sure...

Man, I seriously need help. I can't stop playing Desert Combat. I play it probably 5-8 hours per day, on top of Knights of the Old Republic and Advance Wars. This mod is the best mod for any game EVER. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do. Make sure to download the .4J installation; it's the most current one. My favorite gun is definitely the Opposition Special Ops rifle. What's your favorite?

De Opposition Spec Ops rifle is indeed the best hand weapon in the game...
It is nearly recoilless, and hurts a lot! Some say it is too powerful, I and I agree (when I'm playing allies that is )

I like Desert Combat a lot. I haven't tried too many of the other mods. I love the helicopters and the new classes you can choose. I like the heavy gunner.
