Soldat -- Realtime "worms" FPS
Yeah ok so if its 2D its not really an FPS.... maybe a TPS... or something... but none the less it can be pretty fun..
and to top it off? ITS FREE!!! http://soldat.cyberion.pl/main.htm I think I posted this up in 3.0, but here it is again.

It was posted on v3, but it DEFINITELY needs to be posted again.
It is a top notch game, even if the visuals are not the best. It does exactly what you can want from it, considering its limitations (FPS from a 2d side view). Plenty of guns, actual intelligent (as much as a ~10meg download can handle) enemies, a few good maps that are actually well designed and fun to play... Spleen Rates It: 4.5 outta 5

Yeah, I actually joined my first clan ever on this.. heh. I'm not a big clan guy.. I just like clans for the fact of playing with friends, the competition I just have to put up with. Which is what i did with this clan. We were -{S:S}- or.. the Silent Snipaz. In the end we were the best clan in all of soldat. There was only one clan that could actually win against us, but they broke up before we did...
I used to play a Gak.... but now I run around with a new name (just created tonite)... I might run around as Gak when i'm on campus... but not at home. Find the weapons you like, and yes you'll just get sucked in. And it goes to show.. Games can be top notch, without the graphics

Hi, yeah. I play soldat. It's great. I was just thinking about making a topic, but instead I searched for it... Which seems to have been a good idea.
Seriously, get this game! It's free! Then, we can all play together, and it'll be fun!

Do you have to play multiplayer? For some reason, I cant query any servers...
maybe this is a firewall issue. I decided to ask for help before experimenting.

One of the cool things to do is to edit the taunts file. That way you can make it TRUELY like you are playing online, and call everyone faggots, NOOBS, NEWBS, RTFM, and sluts.
\soldat\taunts.txt hehe

Halx, I think your problem might be this: The maker of the game posted a message that asks people to change a certain txt file. So, open lobby_servers.txt from the Soldat folder and replace 62.111.129.3 with lobby.safeland.org.
Getting a good server, though, seems to be nearly impossible. Thats why we need forum people to set up servers of their own.
