"Where should we head to then? Actually for that matter what are our choices? Anyone know?

Kentelos, did you notice anything that could come in useful about the outside of this castle or any of the surroundings? Obviously not anything unusual as this whole place is unusual, but something that you thought you would like to investigate?"

"If we go back the way we came, down the stairwell, we will come upon the top hallway we didn't explore as we thought it most wise to explore from the top down. It's a tight stairwell but we made it up okay, hopefully we haven't raised enough notice for us to make it back to there, at least, safely. What do you all think? We really only have one way to go for the time being..."

Hearing the small elfs story an apologetic look crosses Kentelos's face.

"I'm sorry Krazixs, if I had known your situation I would have approached you with a little more tact. If you would like, if we get out of here that is, I can teach you anything to do with fire magic, it's my passion, it's my life."

After saying that kentelos slows down a little and appears to be staring at nothing. If you look closely you may notice that his eyes begin shifting and swirling in the colors of fire.

"Ooops sorry, anyways yes, I'm going to assume that i'm mostly welcome to join up with you for now at least."

Hearing Thantos's question Kentelos expression changes to concern

"Honestly I don't think I will be of much help with the surroundings. As I have stated before I do not think I am near the location I entered the fog at. I really did not see much of the castle for I came up to the spire first to see if I could see any of the surrounding area, and we all know how that turned out. Perhaps you could tell me which way you came from before we met? Oh and Attrah if we do get out of here perhaps you could come over to my house and help with some spring cleaning that shield of yours sure does wonders for getting hard to reach places *grinning*"

Hearing the mage's words D'Aleen turns to address him...

"Kentelos, the place we first approached and the place we find ourselves in now do not appear to be one and the same. We know we are at the location we sought but it has....morphed....changed it's appearance only to confuse us perhaps...but these are not the woods we rode through that you see in front of you. It is, disconcerting, to say the least! I think our only option is to press on and see what is in store for us."

"Think nothing of it Kentelos, the fault was my own." Looking around and listening to the others suggestions Krazixs begins thinking about the castle and the structure.

"I'm sorry to intrude by all means my companions I am sure you are more knowledgable than I about matters of exploration and such. But it would seem to me that if we are indeed in some sort of castle or keep, then would not the most likely place to search for clues be the castles main hall? Seeing as how we can see the courtyard from just outside here maybe we can find a way down and find a main entry way."

Walking up to kentelos he says"So Kentelos, tell me of your art, your study and your way.." Darghon grins. "I'm interested in how your study of fire differs from my study of the elemental fire"

Listening to Krazixs' suggestion, Thantos likes what he hears but responds with caution.

"Krazixs...I agree with your logic, however, what happens if we come upon the main hallway and it is a place we have already been? Then we need to retrace our steps all the way back to here. Hmm.. I'm not sure what we should do. I guess our options are: 1) go down to the courtyard and try to find a main entrance (Vinoh can levitate a few people down, Darghon can carry a few people and I can climb). 2) Do as we were doing and continue walking across the ramparts to the farther reaches of the castle. 3) Go down one level to the corridor that we left (Attrah's shield can help clean that corridor of cobwebs and traps). 4) Head out of the castle and into the surrounding countryside.

Are there any other choices? My vote is for 1 or 3. "

Listening with interest to the suggestions of his teammates, Vinoh finally voices his opinion:

"Hmmm, I'm with D'Aleen on this one. Now that we know that the way up leads outside, we can return here and perhaps down to the courtyard at a later time. However, I do not wish to leave any area unexplored, which is why I most favour going back down and checking out the passage we left undisturbed."

With that, the mind mage falls in by the edge of the stairwell.

Listening to Darghons question Kentelos ponders for a minute.

"Let me start out by saying this. Ever since I was a young boy i've always been enthralled by fire and flames. When I figured out I could start fires by thinking about it, I would always go off and practice. One time I was in a field, heh now that I think about it this wasn't the best place to be practicing, I lost control and set the whole field ablaze. People already thought I was.... an oddity so I ran away, not fessing up to my mistakes."

Looking around for a minute Kentelos continues

"A few years later I heard about the fire monks, and how they know almost everything there is to know about it. When I got there they immediately took me in, I guess they could sense potential in me.. not sure never told me, I was only 12 at the time. They started me out small, lighting candles, heating water, that sort of thing. It was a snap for me, was actually pretty boring. They taught everything about heat, and fire, from large balls of fire to tiny white hot streams of liquid fire to melt any material. I can even warm bodily fluids to burn a person from the inside out, which i've done once and I did not enjoy it one bit. I'm not sure quite what you mean by the difference of my fire and elemental fire though? I do get tired from controlling it too much at one time, I still feel somewhat exhausted from scaring away that beast. I hope that answered at least some of your questions. And if you have not yet explored the passage below us, that would be my vote, not sure how much it counts at this point until I can truly prove myself you you all but it's still my vote."

When he has finished listening to Kentelos story he nods with amazement.. "That is surely fascinating.. My elemental magic was taught to me, I picked it up quicker than all those of my race" Darghon lowers his head slightly "I too know what it feels like to be different" looking back up with his perky grin again "But I met the reason why I was different and I am glad I am myself"

Ending his conversation there he walks over to where his friend Vinoh is "So Vinoh, Shall we descend?"

"It seems that we are for exploring that last passageway then...if that's alright with you as well Thantos. I think we are better off fully exploring this castle before we start venturing out to the courtyard. Attrah, if you would be so kind as to clear the way for us with your shield it would be appreciated."

The elf shoulders her bow as it would be useless in such close quarters and slides her dagger from it's sheath, just in case they come across any unwelcome visitors.

You note that the globe of air center on Attrah has molded itself to the wall's shape.
The dust isn't really pushed out of the way, just shifting slightly as if a breeze hitting it.
And the cobwebs either, however as the globe passes they seem to shift too
and many times they fade away as their age can't take the air's passage.
This clears out the hallway a bit as you pass.

The long hallway is long, untouched & non-descript as the other below.
And you come to a corner room as the one below
30 foot wide Octogonal shaped, high domed-ceiling, faded frescos...
and a hall to the right that goes to a unexciting square room that is obviously an Archer's post
The only thing of interest is the storm raging through the narrow archer's slits that line the walls of both rooms.

Those of you briefly outside Attrah's globe while searching feel the frigid wind whistling in.
You smell the acrid air, from the electricity permeating the storm.
And you all see the rain coming through, in a downpour being pushed through the slits.
The grand bolts of lightning slashing across the sky.

Those of you who squint through the slits, see the fog has gone from the courtyard,
however through the harsh rain that is coming down
only shadows are visible down there,
nothing is clear. *

Following the group Krazixs mindlessly waits for everyone to finish exploring their surrondings. As they walk down the corridor approaching the end, lighting crashes outside sending for a brief moment, a penetrating light through the corridor.

Something catches Krazixs eye, and on instinct he turns to explore something he just passed. . .

Noticing Krazixs pause behind her in the passageway, D'Aleen halts her steps and looks over her shoulder to see what has caught his attention. Just as her gaze passes over the corridor they have just passed through, a tremendous bolt of lightening from outside reveals a gap in the otherwise-looking smooth stone wall. Retracing her steps she walks up to the wizard-elf to see what he has discovered.

"Krazixs? Have you found something?" Looking up to make sure the rest of the company have not gone too far ahead, she then leans in closer to see if the image of light through the wall was a trick of her eyes or not.

Darghon follows the group in he notices D'Aleen go after krazixs thinking to himself that they'll call out if they need help he keeps after the group. Smeeling the air he's reminded of his home, his birth place above the clouds, beautiful it was, but when the clouds were in storm it was great just to sit out on the precipice and watch the elctricity run between the clouds below..

He takes a deep breath in and says "This weather reminds me abit of hom.." He smiles still thinking. Looking around "Not much down here is there.."

"Where are you going? Did you see something? Krazixs what's up? Why are you two looking at a wall?"

Keeping his sword out he moves towards Krazixs and D'Aleen.

* You both notice a fine straight vertical seam on the ancient wall apparent to your keen Elven senses,
and as you clear out the dust & grime of time...
Another about 3 feet further...
They both go from floor to ceiling...
There is no wearing or markings on the floor, this is quite uneven.*

Vinoh makes his way to them, thankful to have such sharp senses on his side.

"Looks like a secret passage to me. Seems to be the only worthwile thing in this room. If you wait a moment, I can scan for any presences on the other side, while you look for any switches."

Darghon seeing nothing interesting in the room.. turns around and notices the gathering.. he wanders over and looks at the 'door' the seem to have uncovered..

"So.. where's the handle?" he grins thinking of the fun this might be "Just imagine there could be a shadow demon or something in there and when you open it it'll nab the first person..." Darghon grins a lil "But I guess there's only one way to find out.. Check the actual door itself and around it for buttons, I'll look around for something that maybe a lever.."

Darghon looks for a lever such as a torch holder...

As you lay your hand upon the area inbetween the seams,
the wall shifts forward opening, grinding against the flooring;
swinging slowly & heavily, swinging wide... *

All:
* Dim light from the courtyard falls into this room in jagged shafts through the broken glass
and iron frames of a large window in the farther down the wall on your left.

This immense rooms stands in chilly, brooding darkness.
Hundreds of dust-thick cobwebs drape the room hiding the ceiling from view.

Directly across from the window on the right wall are double doors in the east wall.
Nearer to you on this wall, a single door also leads from the east wall.
At the far wall at the other end of the room, a double set of staircases lead down.

Right in front of you in the center of the room a large single ornate throne faces you.
A figure in white sits pondering upon it. *

The man in white jumps to his feet quickly with sword in hand as the door swings open. The faint glow of the blade does not flicker. His white, hooded cloak flowing silently behind him appearing as if a breeze keeps it slightly aloft. He holds his sword in front of him half chamber. He cocks one eyebrow as if slightly shocked when the sword seems to turn over in his hand, flat side of the blade facing the group entering the room. “Hmm,” he looks at the group inquisitively “You are not my captures I assume?” He looks slightly more at ease. “Greetings, I am Sparrow, a Wind Runner Knight from the Path of the White Light Monastery. I found this place in the fog and needed to seek shelter from the weather and the beast outside." He points to the window as he says, "I came in through that window once the draw bridge and gate locked behind me.” He looks around at the ancient room, “This is not a good place, plenty of evil here. Are you trapped here also?”

Krazixs stares perplexed, the fluid way the man moves sends flashes of pain through the elf's head. Closing his eyes he sees flashes of intense battles, acrid demon breath fills his nostrils and surronding him are his comrades. . .

In a flash it's gone. A bit of memory creeping to the surface only to be swallowed by the malignant abyss that has taken shape in his mind.

"Hello sir if we are you captors I was not told of it HAH. My name is Kentelos Ma'Char, I belong to an order of wizards who's sole purpose is mastering heat and flames. I guess if you were trapped in there it's a good thing we all voted coming down this corridor."

With a chuckle Sparrow nods, "Yes, I am glad you did too. I was just here debating my options. Sit here and wait or go back out and face that winged creature outside and hope I can find a way to get out of the gate." He sighs, "so what brings you all here?" Sparrow eyes the unlikely mix of warriors. he looks around again, watching the corners and windows. "I have not really explored this room much. It was quite dark and my human eyes do not see as well as I wish they would." He looks to the elf with a smile and continue, “but it seems relatively safe for now. If you all are trapped I will help you find a way out although it is my duty to vanquish the evil that resides here so I will return once I see you to safety.” He walks closer to them sheathing his sword. “How did you all get in anyway?”

Watching with some apprehension, D'Aleen instinctively steps closer to Thantos' side as Krazixs places his hands on the entry they have discovered. As the door swings open, her gaze focuses on the cloaked figure as it rises from its seat in the dark and dismal room. Immediately her hand reaches for her bow but she relaxes slightly as she hears Thantos' challenge and the reply. Wishing to make the newcomer feel at ease, yet not straying from the knight's side, she offers a friendly smile.

"Greetings Sparrow. My name is D'Aleen and regrettably my homeland and kin are far from here but we, motley group that we are, have found ourselves drawn together for the sole purpose of eradicating the evil that is taking over these lands. I am curious...what is this beast that you speak of outside? We had a run-in with a Wyvern just recently....I hope that is what you speak of and not a new threat. We have run into a few of our own....obstacles....here inside the keep but have not ventured outside to the lower courtyard yet. Any information you can provide could be invaluable to our quest."

OCC: Sorry for the disjointed entry but Darkblack beat me to the post!

And fyi Darkblack....we unfortunately don't have our Orc friend with us at the present time.

Sparrow turns his gaze toward the window, "ahh, Wyvern, yes that is what it was. I remember reading about them at the temple." He turns his attention back toward D'aleen, "as far as information I was hoping you could provide me with some. I came out of that thick fog and found myself at a drawbridge, I crossed the drawbridge and entered the gate only to have them close and lock behind me." He shrugs his shoulders and sighs, "Then I saw the Wyvern and decided it would be best to face a creature on even terms. With the weather and fog as it is outside, I chose to seek shelter in here." He gesters with his arms toward the open room. "and this is where you found me. I had only been here for less than an hour before you all came in."

"Sparrow of the Wind Runner Knights, well met. I myself am a knight of the Eagle Order. I have not heard of this White Lights Monastary but would be interested in finding out more. Perhaps we can chat as time permits. As for our situation, D'Aleen here described it well although there are only a few of us from the initial group left. It appears to me that the Tomb of Velix, for that is what we were going to find, has selected those with whom it wishes to face. We have all been selected, one way or another and all have ended up here. I am not sure why but hopefully whomever controls the Tomb, did not think we would all work together against him. Now let's check out this room.

Darghon, would you be able to provide a little light in the room or shall I light a torch?"

See before him clearly with his night vision he raises an eyebrow.. "Welcome to the group sparrow, my name is Darghon" Darghon thinking of the group and speaks to his friend Vinoh "It would seem, Vinoh that we are not only having people from all parts of our earth, but other planes of time and space.. interesting, I hope we are ready when the time comes to face this 'devil' for it takes a great lot of magic to cross time and space..."

Darghon holds out his hand and creates a Globe of Daylight and sends it up into the middle of the room.. And with that he looks around to see what he can see..

"Well I guess we can either go out into the courtyard through where sparrow came in or take the stairs down.."

They taught everything about heat, and fire, from large balls of fire to tiny white hot streams of liquid fire to melt any material. I can even warm bodily fluids to burn a person from the inside out, which i've done once and I did not enjoy it one bit. I'm not sure quite what you mean by the difference of my fire and elemental fire though? I do get tired from controlling it too much at one time, I still feel somewhat exhausted from scaring away that beast. I hope that answered at least some of your questions. rogue49 Loser	You note that the globe of air center on Attrah has molded itself to the wall's shape. The dust isn't really pushed out of the way, just shifting slightly as if a breeze hitting it. And the cobwebs either, however as the globe passes they seem to shift too and many times they fade away as their age can't take the air's passage. This clears out the hallway a bit as you pass. The long hallway is long, untouched & non-descript as the other below. And you come to a corner room as the one below 30 foot wide Octogonal shaped, high domed-ceiling, faded frescos... and a hall to the right that goes to a unexciting square room that is obviously an Archer's post The only thing of interest is the storm raging through the narrow archer's slits that line the walls of both rooms. Those of you briefly outside Attrah's globe while searching feel the frigid wind whistling in. You smell the acrid air, from the electricity permeating the storm. And you all see the rain coming through, in a downpour being pushed through the slits. The grand bolts of lightning slashing across the sky. Those of you who squint through the slits, see the fog has gone from the courtyard, however through the harsh rain that is coming down only shadows are visible down there, nothing is clear. * Last edited by rogue49; 09-09-2003 at 03:26 AM..

Minx Junkie Location: Up yonder	Noticing Krazixs pause behind her in the passageway, D'Aleen halts her steps and looks over her shoulder to see what has caught his attention. Just as her gaze passes over the corridor they have just passed through, a tremendous bolt of lightening from outside reveals a gap in the otherwise-looking smooth stone wall. Retracing her steps she walks up to the wizard-elf to see what he has discovered. "Krazixs? Have you found something?" This immense rooms stands in chilly, brooding darkness. Hundreds of dust-thick cobwebs drape the room hiding the ceiling from view. Directly across from the window on the right wall are double doors in the east wall. Nearer to you on this wall, a single door also leads from the east wall. At the far wall at the other end of the room, a double set of staircases lead down. Right in front of you in the center of the room a large single ornate throne faces you. A figure in white sits pondering upon it. *

Darkblack Banned Location: Pennsytuckia	The man in white jumps to his feet quickly with sword in hand as the door swings open. The faint glow of the blade does not flicker. His white, hooded cloak flowing silently behind him appearing as if a breeze keeps it slightly aloft. He holds his sword in front of him half chamber. He cocks one eyebrow as if slightly shocked when the sword seems to turn over in his hand, flat side of the blade facing the group entering the room. “Hmm,” he looks at the group inquisitively “You are not my captures I assume?” He looks slightly more at ease. “Greetings, I am Sparrow, a Wind Runner Knight from the Path of the White Light Monastery. I found this place in the fog and needed to seek shelter from the weather and the beast outside." He points to the window as he says, "I came in through that window once the draw bridge and gate locked behind me.” He looks around at the ancient room, “This is not a good place, plenty of evil here. Sit here and wait or go back out and face that winged creature outside and hope I can find a way to get out of the gate." He sighs, "so what brings you all here?"
