What version of Soul Calibur 2 are you getting?
Personally i am all about the gamecube verision, from what i hear it has quicker load times and sharp graphics, plus Link is by far the coolest bonus if you ask me. Opinions?
Well I am gonna get the ps2 version. Why? Cause thats the only console I have :D
I will finally be able to figure out what the hell they are telling me to do in story mode. |
Gamecube for me, cause link is awesome.
X-box for me. I hope spawn turns out well.
If ya read the reviews, particularly Electronic Gaming Monthly, they posted a review of all three versions in one issue. According to EGM, if you have an XBox, get that version. If not, get the Gamecube version. If nothing else, get the PS2 version.
XBox version has better graphics. I know that graphics aren't everything in a videogame, but when it's the same game across three systems, why not get the one with the best graphics? I also heard the PS2 version was buggy. I'm not into fighting games that much, and even though I own all three systems, I probably won't buy it for either of them. Oh well, just figured I'd let ya know what EGM suggests. Good luck! -Lasereth |
Spawn turned out pretty good. I am getting the GameCube version though because i have a GC and a ps2 and a convertor to let me use the ps2 controller on the GameCube so thats great.
And the only difference between the XBox version and the GameCube version is the sound. From what i have seen, the graphics on both look pretty much identical, i would actually give the edge to the GC, but the Xbox has by far way better sound. |
I've already got my Gamecube version. :D
Very beautiful... |
Any links on the bugginess of the PS2 version? As that's the only "in production" console I have, I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading from the Dreamcast version.

Where did you get the converter? Price? |
converter is great
saved me from buying new GC controllers for party games |
oh, and Link all the way
Xbox has better graphics and spawn is a p-i-m-p. :D
i have all three consoles, but i'm getting the xbox version. EGM says the graphics are the best, and the controller is perfect for playing the game.
actually they said the controller was much worse than the PS2 version... also the xbox graphics are only very slightly crisper than the GameCube version, ive seen them both in action side by side... not noticable
Having played the GameCube version this weekend, there's no choice for me. It was incredible!
And if you've got the extra money, I *highly* recommend importing one of the controller arcade pads. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than any normal gamepad. |
after playing the ps2 version of it i wouldnt be able to get use to the gamecube controllers so im buying the gamecube copy and im getting adapter so i can use the ps2 controllers
I'd love all three, but my money's on Gamecube for Link. It's the only version I've played so far, and nothing's cooler than finishing off your opponent with a fairy net or some bow and arrows.

They bumped the graphics a lot compared to SC in my opinion. I have SC and i can see the difference.
i'm gonna end up getting it on my xbox. i'd probably get it for my ps2 but its throwing fits and having trouble reading discs. too bad i didnt have the same warranty on it that i had on my xbox. my xbox was almost 2 years old and stopped reading and the third port died. had the extended warranty on it and took it back, got a brand new one with the s-controller and paid $20 for another 2 year warranty. they were really cool about it too. forgot i wanted all my saved games. went in the next day and he let me take my old xbox back for a day so i could transfer all my games. pain in the ass though, you have to do it with a memory card. dunno why they didnt set it up so u could use system link
X-Box - even though I own the Jap PS2 version already.
PS2 for now. My 5 year old wants a Cube for his birthday or Christmas, so I'll get it for that too!
It's all about Link for me.
I wanna see some Megaton Hammer action! |
Xbox - I only have one gamecube controller :)
although i heartily wish i owned a gamecube, i (only) own an xbox, so i'll be playing it on that as soon as i get around to getting my hands on it.
When does this game come out? i have reserved a copy but it doesn't have a date on it.
August 26.
excellent thanks.
I'll def be getting it for the x-box. I like the controllers so much better than any other system (I use the big ones too=P ) and after playing with em for so long, I cant stand the tiny ps2/gamecube controllers.. they kill my thumb.
If I buy it, it'll definately be the GameCube version. It's hard to beat the idea of being Link in a fighting game...oh, wait, Super Smash Brothers. My bad, heh, but I still gotta play this.
PS2, it's the only one of the three I own. Damn economy :(
I got mine pre-ordered for the Xbox, I just like Spawn better than Link, I'm supposed to get a free T-shirt, and a copy of the soundtrack when i get my game. :) Also, has anyone seen the SC II arcade stick Namco is gonna release for this game?
GameCube version here. I'd like to get a gamepad as well.
Game Cube, since it's the only recent system that I have.
I was playing online last night on XBox and meet a manager of an Electronics Boutique. She said most people are ordering the Gamecube version so they can play as Link. She said sales of Gamecubes have even picked up just to get that version.
i love my gamecube

The GC version.
I don't have an Xbox and i've been wanting to play as Link in a fighter since i was a kid. And SSB:M doesn't count. |
Gamecube all the way. Being the gaming geek I am, Link sinches the deal.
Having played the game for awhile, Link is really fun to play as.. Especially when you do a vertical slash either pushing up or down (can't remember), and he does the downward sword stab straight out of Super Smash Bros. Great stuff. |
