Super Nintendo
I have to admit, my all time favorite gaming system was the Super Nintendo. It doesn't have the graphical power or the sound tracks of todays gaming systems, but the games for it were incredible. I felt like playing those games constantly, which is a rarity with some of the next-gen console games.
A few of my all time favorites: Rock and Roll Racing - Great gameplay and soundtrack (even though it is a midi soundtrack). The commentators are fun, though occasionally annoying. Mario Kart - Good single player game, great multiplayer. Super Mario World - Many wasted hours on this one. After all, I had to finish all of the levels and get the star. :) Super Punch Out - Just a great all round game. A lot of fun to play and very easy to get addicted to. There's more, but I'm going to wait to hear your responses. :) |
Super Metroid, Link To The Past, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island...
I could keep going on as well. The SNES was the best console, IMO, as well. |
SNES.. best system ever.
Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Simcity, Bomberman, Earthbound, Illusion of Gaia, Super Mario RPG. And, of course, the weirdest and most 'radical' game ever: Uniracers. =) |

Three of the best RPG's I've ever played... |
Four Words:
Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball. The single greatest baseball game ever created for any platform. :D I still play it pretty often on a SNES rom I have here on my computer. |
By far the best system ever. Gotta love when developers cared more about the actual game than the pretty graphics.
Zelda: A Link to the Past Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy VI Secret of Mana Chrono Trigger Secret of Evermore Super Mario RPG Super Metroid Contra 3 Battle Toads Best Games, ever. *edit* Oops. Most of the games i mentioned were already mentioned by others. That just goes to show how great they are. |
I don't know anything about SNES...I had a Genesis...
*Drooling over Tony LaRussa Baseball 3* |

yep... super metroid and zelda: a link to the past - its pure gaming greatness. they just dont make games like that anymore. the graphics are so good in zelda, the hand drawn animations... the whole game is an orgasm of gaming joy.

I'm gonna name off a bunch of great games, a lot of them are going to be repeats, please don't kill me :(
Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy VI Chrono Trigger Secret of Mana Shadowrun Breath of Fire 2 Megaman X F-Zero Final Fight Street Fighter 2 Turbo Super Mario World Super Mario All Stars Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Sim City Mortal Kombat 2 Rock 'n' Roll Racing Tetris Attack Battle Clash (the super scope game, it was awesome) NHL '94 Ken Griffey Jr baseball (the first on on snes, not the 2nd one) Donkey Kong Country Actraiser Zelda 3 Castlevania 4 (not dracula X) Mario Kart Super Metroid Super Punch out all I can think of right now :( |
Mother II (Earthbound).
|
oh ya i forgot about the Breath of Fire series, it was great on the SNES.
|
Yea, I share your guys' opinion... the SNES rules!
*still happily playing Earthbound and other SNES RPGs while my friends shell out money on the high end consoles* ;) |

:D Base Wars was the greatest... |
The more I think about it, I think that Secret of Mana is be one of the greatest games of all time. A multiplayer action rpg that allowed hotswapping of players and just seemed to go on and on without getting boring. What a great game.
*grayman goes to the basement to get his snes* |
Street Figher II Turbo roxored.
I was a Genesis kid though. I think it ruined my childhood. I was like the guy who liked the CFL instead of the NFL or the Clippers instead of the Lakers. Total outsider. But, I'm not bitter. I really want one though. I'm leery of ebay, so I gotta look somewhere else... |

|
All this SNES talk made me pop in Chrono Trigger and start a new game, i love that damn game.
|
Zoop was fun
Zool too |
Dang I really regret selling my SNES now /cry
|
I liked The 7th Saga, made by Enix if my memory serves me correctly, but Final fantasy three was so great, had the most evil bastard ever...kevka. That guy puts modern villans in games to shame.
and yes, rock and roll racing was a whole lotta fun. |
most of the games rock, not much else to say. they need more games like these.
2d scrolling platform games will always b old skool, and will always rock! |
I am partial to all the Mario's, Mario Kart, Contra, and whatever that sidescroller beat em up Ninja Turtles game was... that game rocked.

Although they've already been mentioned my favorites were always these (in no particular order): Secret of Mana Final Fantasy III (the only Final Fantasy game I ever got into) Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Super Mario Kart Super Mario World Donkey Kong Country Mario Paint Sim City Final Fight is pretty good. All in all though, SNES is my third favorite system. First is NES. Second is Playstation 2 (only because of it's backwards compatability to my otherwise no. 2 choice), then SNES. They're all great systems though, in my opinion. |
was a Genesis kid too. Mom wouldn't let me get an SNES too.
Last November I got an SNES for $16 (Canadian) at EB. Got a Super GameBoy, Mario World 1 and 2, Donkey Kong Country 2, Mario Kart, Super MEtroid, MegaMan X3, Killer Instict, and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 4!!!!! Me and my friends whip that out all the time. Good warm up before we play CS |
super metroid #1!
|
Oh the SNES, how I love you. I think I'll be playing SNES games till I'm old and grey. Some favs: Prince of Persia (the snes version ROCKED!), most of the square rpgs, super metroid - one of the coolest games ever made, terranigma, oh and a bout a hundred others, great system.
|
You know, it's funny. I recently bought a GBA SP a couple of weeks ago with Metroid Fusion, and I never realized until then how much I miss the simplicity of a good sidescroller.
Games today are all graphics, graphics, graphics, with little emphasis on replayability. You buy them, you play them, you get bored with them, you move onto the next game. However, even to this day, I am still playing old SNES games, quite simply because they were fun. I really miss my old SNES. :( |

Link to the past- Holy balls, what a great awesome game. Final Fantasy III- This did have a great soundtrack. and it was awesome. Secret of mana/evermore- These two games were awesome, man was better, and people look evermore over, but it was an awesome game, im glad to see the GBA coming out with so many cool ports/remakes, like sword of mana.
