Alright folks, who is your favorite squaresoft character, out of any game made by them, ever. Id have to say that Vivi, from final fantasy IX is tied with Auron from Final Fantasy X. Although Mog from Final Fantasy 3 is in second place.

Magus from Chrono Trigger...I was so happy when I finally got him in my party :D

Magus is one bad fellow. Also enjoyed the interplay between Cecil and Golbez in IV.

And who could forget Gogo - the only Squaresoft character to have been patterned after a certain former Governor of Illinois! =)

Selphie!!!

I don't know why I like Selphie so much!!

She isn't a particuarly good character, she has an un-original weapon, and she has one good limit break (The End, Duh!)

Maybe I just like her personallity...

Yup, I'd have to go with Chrono Trigger's Glenn as well. Although Glenn from Chrono Cross (Who, as the producers explained it, is the great great great grandson of the Original Glenn, or something like that) is almost equaly as great, but they didn't develop his charector nearly enough

I've always had a thing for Faris from FFV too.

too many damn characters in chrono cross, although still a wonderfull game. WE NEED CHRONO BREAK SQUARE GIVE IT TO US!!

Auron and Sabin.

There is just too many to name. Everyone from Chrono Trigger especially Glenn, he was so damned cool. I liked Fusoya(sp?) a lot from Final Fantasy IV. Sephiroth is a complete badass. Rydia was great too. Auron is awesome as hell. T.G. Cid is great.

I loved the rivalry between Cloud and Sephiroth. Auron was good as well.

Who can forget Kefka and his deliciously evil antics?

Pretty much all the main characters in FF8 are extremely memorable as well, and can be related to by players, aside from Squall, whose "dark and depressed" whiny attitude I simply cannot astand. Laguna was the anti-Squall, and he gets my respect for that :D

Yuna was hot... and Quistis, damn...

Kefka for being supremely evil, Vivi for plucking the heartstrings, and Cyan for being the absolute best character ever.

And, although I really didn't like FF9, I love the character Bobby Corwin. (for those no in the know - he's the chocobo that was born/raised in the black mage village)

Kefka, for being the most evil, vile, and undeniably awsome person in the entire FF series. The scene where he slaughters the espers and Leo was great.

He's the optional ?vampire? guy with a gun. And turns into a monster for his limit break. i.e. werewolf, frankenstein, etc.

Tifa...She had HUGE boobs. espically the cutscene when you beat the game. I dont remember what actually happened but I do remember those boobies

Must say i agree with sephiroth, but I think some of his fame is because him and Cloud had such a cool ass thing goin on.

Kain was the best fucking Dragoon that there will ever be.
Edge is the best ninja, dual wielding the Masamune and the Murasame.

Shadow was a fucking badass too. Still can't figure out if Shadow was really a girl or a guy.

I dont know, shadow was pretty rockin........Shadow was a guy by the way, if you watch the dreams he has when he is in bed in your party, you learn that he came from "shit i forgot the town name(its where strago lived)" and you learn that he meets a girl there, fucks her, and runs away, leaving his "daugter" there in the town to be raised by her "grandfather" (Strago). SO if you didnt catch that, shadow is relms father. Just go to sleep hundreds of times, you get little bits of the story thoughout the dreams. Its got some freaky music though, just to let you know.

Sephiroth or Cloud, and Tifa was hot ;), all the FFVII characters are cool.

ok, so this isn't really a character, but I loved the 'rabite' enemies in the SOM series :P

the fighter in final fantasy 1 (especially when he had the masamune and you casted fast on him), kain, shadow, edge, locke, setzer, cyan, lulu, aeris, tifa, rydia, hades in final fantasy vii, diablo, anima...holy crap i can't just decide on one

i kind of like most of the FFVIII characters, although Squall was a little Angsty.

squall, laguna or rinoa were the coolest.

That Doctor guy from Xenogears was bad ass just because he had the mech with a huge sword near the end of the game. I cant seem to remember his name right now, i played that game so long ago.

Geno owns me, he was the best charcter in mario rpg, too bad he isnt in any other games..

the one and only Sephiroth..... i think he is the coolist badguy ever :)

boko! oh yeah. the chocobo from ff5 (i think itwas 5....) or butz (not hat lame 'bvartz' character they turned him into for america. sure, hes the same character.. but butz is such a better name ^_^) and the old guy in ff5 is great as well.
frog rules
seph. is great. cant beat a guy with a (kind of...)trenchcoat and 10-foot sword. tho he kicked much more ass in KH than FF7.
iv always likes seipher. kind of an homage to sephiroth, if you look at his name enough. (seiph - sephi heh...)
and the cid from ff4.
if monsters count.. the giant boss you fight at the hotel in parasite eve 2. its just funny looking.
and the 3-headed dog in PE1.
and the fat bunny in unlimeted SaGa.
(its hard to have one favorite when evry character made by square is so amazingly cool, but for such different reasons.)

I forgot about magus, he is awesome.

Of course I've played SNES Final Fantasies. I played FF2 and FF3 (US) but I simply didn't like them as much as I enjoyed the later versions. If I had to choose, I'd say Locke, Edward (I think that's the name of the knight in FF3 US), and Cecil from FF2 US.

I would say Aya and Eve from Parasite Eve, Ashely Riot and Syndeny from Vagrant Story, and even though I haven't played it, FFX's Lulu is very hot.

Sephiroth, I know everyone loves him but I just cant help myself. Second would probably be Fei Fong Wong. I liked Xenogears more as a game though.

Not very original, but Sephiroth is my fave. Having him in Ehrgiez and KH made him that much cooler.

I'm tied between Cloud from FF7 and Wakka from FFX. They were both great characters, cloud with his weird history and overlarge sword, and Wakka, funny guy, total idiot sometimes, and he attacks with what is basically a volleyball.

Oh, and Sephiroth, ultimate villain, though in the end he was pretty easy to beat, i was really dissapointed

Does Id count? He was kind of a seperate character, and kinda the same character. If not, Citan, Crono, and Frog were all badasses.

Am almost through with FFX right now, and starting on FFVII. Im a console RPG newbie...

FFVII characters all seem great so far. Tidus really gets on my nerves...

But Auron in X is a fantastic character, and one of the most developed I think... the backstory with Braska, the Jecht Spheres etc...

Palom and Porom were awesome in FF3...

But i'd have to say my favorite is Ramza from FFT...with Elmdor coming in a close 2nd.

My favorites are definately both from Xenogears. Citan and Fei Fong Wong. Maybe I'm biased because this is my favorite squaresoft game. I think this game had some of the best charater development of all squaresoft games. I also loved the way the story on the grander scheme seemed to inclde every character to an extent and there just wasn't extra characters that just seemed to tag along for the quest as in some other Square games

Cloud from final fantasy 7 is awesome, and probably the best main character for an rpg ever...(fanboy) :)

I'm kinda partial to Ultros. It always made me laugh that a damn octopus just kept coming after you in some of the most random places. Come on, how many octopi do you see hanging out in opera houses?

Of course I haven't played many Squaresoft games I don't think. FF3 and Secret of Mana are the only ones that come to mind, although I'm sure there have been others.

My favorite is a tie between Cloud from FF7 and Auron from FF10. I just think they did an incredible job with both characters.
