Palom and Porom were awesome in FF3...

But i'd have to say my favorite is Ramza from FFT...with Elmdor coming in a close 2nd.

My favorites are definately both from Xenogears. Citan and Fei Fong Wong. Maybe I'm biased because this is my favorite squaresoft game. I think this game had some of the best charater development of all squaresoft games. I also loved the way the story on the grander scheme seemed to inclde every character to an extent and there just wasn't extra characters that just seemed to tag along for the quest as in some other Square games

Cloud from final fantasy 7 is awesome, and probably the best main character for an rpg ever...(fanboy)

I'm kinda partial to Ultros. It always made me laugh that a damn octopus just kept coming after you in some of the most random places. Come on, how many octopi do you see hanging out in opera houses?

Of course I haven't played many Squaresoft games I don't think. FF3 and Secret of Mana are the only ones that come to mind, although I'm sure there have been others.

i just had a thought... my all time fav Square character has to be Aki Ross from the Final Fantary movie.

its still final fantasy by square so i hope she counts.

My favorite is a tie between Cloud from FF7 and Auron from FF10. I just think they did an incredible job with both characters.

This is an old thread, but someone has to mention STILTZKIN! From FF9, easily the most awesome moogle of all time... which happens to be me

And Citan from Xenogears gets my vote for "freaking smart guy that knows everything."

Lucca from Chrono Cross gets my vote for "babe that knows everything."

Damn it, I love almost all of Square's characters

Gonna have to go with Cecil on this one, I loved FF2 nothing they've come out with since has even come close to the story or characters in this game. Not to mention it was actually kinda hard unlike oooh say 7 or 8

oh and how could I forget Fighter, Thief, Black Mage and Red Mage from 8 Bit Theatre...

I want Sword-Chucks!

Squall. Although I did enjoy FFVII, Cloud was a dog by the end of the game. His ultimate limit break couldn't be stopped! But, dispite how big his sword was, I'll take the GUNBLADE anyday!

Only one mention of the great dragoon Cain... I guess supporting characters aren't the bomb. FFIV was the best of all the series in terms of storyline IMO, should be made into a movie

Some of you guys may disagree with this one, but I like the Cid from FF2. If you count characters inspired by the game, I'd have to say Black Mage from 8 bit theater then (stabbity death!).

I also have one badass character made by former square employees. He's Yuri from Shadow Hearts, one of the biggest video game smart asses of all time.
