I dont know, shadow was pretty rockin........Shadow was a guy by the way, if you watch the dreams he has when he is in bed in your party, you learn that he came from "shit i forgot the town name(its where strago lived)" and you learn that he meets a girl there, fucks her, and runs away, leaving his "daugter" there in the town to be raised by her "grandfather" (Strago). SO if you didnt catch that, shadow is relms father. Just go to sleep hundreds of times, you get little bits of the story thoughout the dreams. Its got some freaky music though, just to let you know.

Sephiroth or Cloud, and Tifa was hot ;), all the FFVII characters are cool.

ok, so this isn't really a character, but I loved the 'rabite' enemies in the SOM series :P

the fighter in final fantasy 1 (especially when he had the masamune and you casted fast on him), kain, shadow, edge, locke, setzer, cyan, lulu, aeris, tifa, rydia, hades in final fantasy vii, diablo, anima...holy crap i can't just decide on one

i kind of like most of the FFVIII characters, although Squall was a little Angsty.

squall, laguna or rinoa were the coolest.

That Doctor guy from Xenogears was bad ass just because he had the mech with a huge sword near the end of the game. I cant seem to remember his name right now, i played that game so long ago.

Geno owns me, he was the best charcter in mario rpg, too bad he isnt in any other games..

the one and only Sephiroth..... i think he is the coolist badguy ever :)

boko! oh yeah. the chocobo from ff5 (i think itwas 5....) or butz (not hat lame 'bvartz' character they turned him into for america. sure, hes the same character.. but butz is such a better name ^_^) and the old guy in ff5 is great as well.

seph. is great. cant beat a guy with a (kind of...)trenchcoat and 10-foot sword. tho he kicked much more ass in KH than FF7.
iv always likes seipher. kind of an homage to sephiroth, if you look at his name enough. (seiph - sephi heh...)
and the cid from ff4.
if monsters count.. the giant boss you fight at the hotel in parasite eve 2. its just funny looking.
and the 3-headed dog in PE1.
and the fat bunny in unlimeted SaGa.
(its hard to have one favorite when evry character made by square is so amazingly cool, but for such different reasons.)

I forgot about magus, he is awesome.

Of course I've played SNES Final Fantasies. I played FF2 and FF3 (US) but I simply didn't like them as much as I enjoyed the later versions. If I had to choose, I'd say Locke, Edward (I think that's the name of the knight in FF3 US), and Cecil from FF2 US.

I would say Aya and Eve from Parasite Eve, Ashely Riot and Syndeny from Vagrant Story, and even though I haven't played it, FFX's Lulu is very hot.

Sephiroth, I know everyone loves him but I just cant help myself. Second would probably be Fei Fong Wong. I liked Xenogears more as a game though.

Not very original, but Sephiroth is my fave. Having him in Ehrgiez and KH made him that much cooler.

I'm tied between Cloud from FF7 and Wakka from FFX. They were both great characters, cloud with his weird history and overlarge sword, and Wakka, funny guy, total idiot sometimes, and he attacks with what is basically a volleyball.

Oh, and Sephiroth, ultimate villain, though in the end he was pretty easy to beat, i was really dissapointed

Does Id count? He was kind of a seperate character, and kinda the same character. If not, Citan, Crono, and Frog were all badasses.

Am almost through with FFX right now, and starting on FFVII. Im a console RPG newbie...

FFVII characters all seem great so far. Tidus really gets on my nerves...

But Auron in X is a fantastic character, and one of the most developed I think... the backstory with Braska, the Jecht Spheres etc...
