Used to D&D, as far back as 15 years ago. We switched to EarthDawn, then that group split down to 3 about 5 years back, got it back up to a half-dozen, we play Deadlands:HOE when we can. Recently one of the better GMs in the group picked up some 3rd book called Ghost World or something, about a city of the dead. He's looking to get us back into D&D with it. We'll see...

Used to play back in the 80's. We played pretty much a Monty Hall scene - I think my 10th level cleric had multiple artifacts if I remember correctly.

Made me pick up Everquest before I made myself stop a few years back. Damn addictive stuff....

I still play D&D and Shadowrun, but only once or twice a month. The group I play in has been together since grade school, but we are all grown up now, and live in different parts of the state. We've probably tried betwen 20-30 rpgs over the years, and the only one that ever came close to being as high quality as D&D and Shadowrun was Rifts. I do have to admit, whether its because of the group or the game, D&D has become too hack n' slash for my taste. Everybody seems to gravitate towards power gamer, with people scouring the books for some loop hole that will make their character uber. Well, enough of my rambling

That video was a hidden feature in a thoroughly mediocre RPG that came out way early in the life of the PS2 called "Summoner". I got more enjoyment out of the 90-odd seconds it lasted than the actual game.

Don't know where to find it online, but that might help your search.

It's Summoner Geeks and it was originally a skit by the Dead Alewives. It's available here . I'd embed it into this post, but the file is like 26 megs and not very happy when I try to embed it.

Most people don't DM well for Neverwinter Nights. NWN was made to eliminate the need for a DM, meaning the primary function of a DM is to help facilitate good roleplay. There just aren't that many serious roleplayers and DM's out there. The good news though, is if you're interested in that kind of thing, there's a website: www.neverwinterconnections.com

I'm in a group that plays using Monty Cook's Arcana Unearthed.

It has turned out to be a lot of fun.

Before that, I hadn't played in 20 years or so.

Unfortunately, I threw out all my AD&D original player's books a couple of years ago, figuring I would never need them again

Coppertop: any campaign sourcebooks? I have most of the class/race books, the PHB, the DMG, and the MM(was my favorite book once they bound it instead of that three ring binder), but what I want are settings books and adventures and so forth, because we play third now.

Have never gotten into D&D, only watched the movie and played NWN heh.. Rifts is the only one I've played that my interest lasted longer than a couple of weeks. Just the environment appeals to me better, prefer te sci-fi apocalypse setting.

I've GM'd a couple of games so far, mainly because the GM that usually runs our games is getting tired of the job and wants to play himself.. heh.. So I'm still learning, I'm gravitating towards giving more xp for roleplaying than anything, that seems to bring out some interesting conversations and plots..

Rifts was fun when I played it with dormmates. Although, my GM was kind of a jerk. I made a comment during character creation about why anyone would pick singing as a skill (non-bard class) and he made a point of having an NPC ask me to sing.

I'm a total closet freak with so many ideas but no one I know in my area is interested.
I love Eberron to the point of Keith Baker overthrowing whatever god I had before.

To show my freakishness, I convert almost every movie character into a DnD character WHILE watching the movie.

Riddick: Male Meanad Barbarian 4 Rogue 8 Ranger 4

Phantom of the Opera: Male Human Bard 6 Expert 6

Blade: Male Half-Vampire Human Fighter 16
(Fighter rather than Ranger because he has no problems kicking anyone's ass.)

My location is posted. SPEAK TO ME.

I used to play D&D and Harnworld back in middle and high school, but didn't really play at all in my 20s.

Now I get my geek on once a year at Origins. It's a huge gaming convention in Columbus Ohio every July. It's the only time of year I get to roleplay and it's lots of fun to do it with hundreds of other gamers.

I've been looking to start playing again for years. Just can't find a group that gets together on a regular basis, and if we can, everyone wants to play, and not DM. I've had an idea for a character for years now that I've been waiting to test out.... guess I've still got to be patient.

I play D&D (everything from basic to 3rd edition)

Additionally, I attend LARP events through WAR and PRO.

On top of that, I play every RPG I can get my hands on (offline only, I don't like online RPGs that well).

I just started playing before the Christmas break and am now involved in 3 campaigns, one of which I DM. I'm having a lot of fun playing and designing my campaign, but alas, only have a session about every 2 weeks. Adult responsibilities will do that.

My main character is a 4th level gnomish rogue named Saradas Brownlocke. Starting to think about what prestige class to take...

I'm currently running a weekly pen and paper RPG with the Warcraft campaign setting for D&D 3.5. It's a lot of fun, especially since so many of us are in to World of Warcraft now. I'm in a gaming group that usually plays at least once a week. There's something about pen and papering that computers just can't replicate, even when they introduce interaction with lots of other players.

Already fourth?! Did you start at one? We've been in our campaign for seven or eight months, meeting almost every week, and I (along with the rest of the party) am reaching for sixth. Then again, our DM is admittedly stingy with rewards. It makes the occasional gauntlets or ring especially nice, but man, do I want my undead bane weapon and Sacred Purifier prestige class.

Our DM gave us double XP until we got to level 5 to speed things up. We got to level 5 in 4 weeks. It all depends on how the DM wants to handle XP.

Meaning that in four weeks you got five thousand experience points(doubled to ten), or an average of 1,250 a session apiece. How many are in your group?

I've never actually had the opportunity to play D n D. My friends played it all the time and I didn't want to just ask if i could start playing with them. I didn't wanna piss them off. I've heard its soooo cool though. I've played videogames related to it but I've been told there is no comparison for the original RPG.
