best video game you have ever played.
this question begs to be asked, although i'm sure this thread has been started many times in this forum. i must ask again... what are the best games you have ever played, on any console/pc?
here are mine: final fantasy X (ps2) a boy and his blob (nes) diablo 2 (pc) and of course the almighty gta3. |
Super Mario Bros. 3
LoZ: Ocarina of Time |
A tough one for sure!
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Silent Hill 3, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid 1, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter and the new Tomb Raider... damn what an odd selection... I'm sure I'm missing something vital... |
Final Fantasy 6 (or 3 not in Japan)
|
just basing on hours played...and replayed...
halo (xbox) vagrant story (ps) amplitude (ps2) metroid prime (gamecube) master of orion (pc) - oldy |
Final Fantasy 3 (6 if your japanese)
Enter The Matrix (PC) and...just wondering...how the hell did you play silent hill 3 already? |
Diablo 2 - Simply because it has something that other games lack.. something that keeps me hooked, even today.
Final Fantasy 8 - Alot of people hate this game, but I loved it. It had just the right balance of action, story, and gameplay for me. I could really connect emotionally with the characters, but I think thats true of nearly any FF game. Ultima Online - Back in the day, when it first launched, this was something different for me. A multiplayer online world that keeps on changing after I log off. I guess I was more naive back then, because today I wouldn't touch MMORPGs with a 10-foot pole. |
GTA3, for obvious reasons...not just the running around and shooting things part, but also because the characters were cool, the missions were kick ass, and the maps (cities) were amazing. Vice City pales in comarision
Gran Turismo 3, great series, the latest is a great game, the realism of the cars is awesome....i cant wait for the new one however, without a doubt the BEST game ive ever played is Mafia...the graphics were great, the characters were cool, the storyline was amzing (especially the little movie at the end), and even the soundtrack was awesome. i love those old time 30's mob stories, and to make a game out of it like mafia was superb |
Vice City, FF7, Star Control 2, X-Com
|
Final Fantasy 4 (our 2), Final Fantasy 6 (our 3), Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy Tactics, The original Legend of Zelda, Starcraft(pc), Vagrant Story, Marvel vs. Capcom 2(dreamcast), Metroid Prime, and on and on and on.

Sacrifice, because it wasn't just another remake of every other game on the market. There is only one other game on the market that i can think of that is anything like it and that's battlezone.
And when you get down to it the game is just pure beauty. |
LoZ: Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past
Secret of Mana Rainbow 6 Halflife |
The first Tomb Raider
Vandal Hearts Soul Caliber Tenchu Metroid |
Castlevania 64
Daikatana |
just kidding
lol |
I was saying Enter the Matrix a few months ago, but then I got to the first driving level and sang a different song.
Final Fantasy 7 was perfect |
SNES- The Secret of Mana
N64 - Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark XBOX - Halo |
FF3/6
Starcraft Diablo ONE!!! Goldeneye Super Smash Soul Caliber |
FF8 (I don't know why I seem to be the only person in the world who likes this game!!)
Warcraft II Diablo I Silent Hill II (Even though I never finished it I was floored by the graphics, sound, and over-all creepy greatness) |
the complete zelda series
daiblo 2 |
A really tough one, especially if you pick from all categories and platforms.
After some though, in descending order: Age of Kings (PC) - Strategy Stare Craft (PC) - Strategy Tribes 2 (PC) - Shooter Diablo II – LoD (PC) – Multiplayer Action RPG Fallout II (PC) - RPG Age of Empires (PC) - Strategy |
Ok, reach back in time.....
TELENGARD! Anyone remember it? I loved this game, and it started a long history of addiction to role playing games. You can download it now as shareware. Although a little less complex than current hits, I still love it. |
Dragon Quest
HURT MORE! Goo runs away. Oh no, my bamboo stick doesn't hurt it enough, run away... ch ch ch ch ch. |
Tecmo Bowl (NES)
Command & Conquer (PC) Midtown Madness 3 (XBOX Live) Empire/ Empire DELUXE (PC) My Decision was based on the games that once I got them that is all that I would play. I can remember being in the US navy stationed on a ship and we had a techmo bowl league setup and would spend hours playing a full season and having a super bowl. then jsut happened to pick up command and conquer in EB when it first came out and would start playing at 8pm then what seemed to be 1-2 hours later i would look at the clock and it would be 4 AM. and that is the same thing that happenes now when I play MM3 on Xbox Live. I bought solider of fourtune II the same day as i bought MM3 and have played SOFII for maybe an hour. the rest of the time I have only played MM3. it is a great game, then I remember playing Empire where the entire game would fit on a 5.25" floppy and you could mail the disk back and forth between players and play by mail. |
in random order
0) Age of Empires (PC) 1) Orginal Mario Bros on the Atari 7800 2) Pole Position on the same platform 3) Gran Turismo on the PS (last console I have touched in the past 4 years) |
Castlevania : Symphony of the Night (PS1)
River City Ransom (NES) Bomberman '95 (PC-Engine) King of Fighters '98 (Neo-Geo) |

Trust me, when it reaches the shelves of the states you MUST buy it, freakin' amazing. |
Diablo 1
Diablo 2 Counter Strike |
Planescape: Torment
Fallout I Fallout II Final Fantasy VII Ultima VII Ultima Underworld II Zelda I But the best? Planescape: Torment. No question. |
Another vote for Age of Empires. New games distract me for a while, but I keep going back to AOE to play online.
|
Commodore 64's "BC's Quest For Tires."
Rockin' good time |
HALO
Madden and NCAA Football |
Well, for sheer artistry and greatness of gaming, Gotta go with Deus Ex or Civilization II, the latter of which is still the most addictive game I've ever played. Of older games, I have yet to play a better space fighter game than Tie Fighter, though Freespace did enter the ballpark. Finally, never, ever forget the one that started this fps thing, Wolf3d.
|
oh man i cant believe i forgot Secret of Mana.
What system is Silent Hill 3 gonna be out for? |
I liked Ninja Gaiden for the NES, that was a really good game. NCAA Football is my favorite game, though, but Ninja Gaiden is definitely the best I've every played. It was just so fun.
|
Diablo 2
GTA Vice City Metal Gear Solid and my all time favorite: Halo, hands down. I never get tired of that game, and I'm pretty damn good at it, so I love it. |
