I'd have to agree with xenophobe and add planescape:torment to my list. I can't believe I left that out. Best story of any crpg I have ever played.

Half-Life
System Shock 2 Starcraft Diablo 1 |
Quote:
Master of Orion (PC) - classic strategy X-Com: UFO Defense (PC) - classic strategy Myth 2 Soulblighter (PC) - multiplayer strategy Dark Age of Camelot (PC) - MMORPG overall, X-Com is my favorite. pretty old and not up to par to today's games as far as graphics go, etc. but I used to spend a lot of time on it. |

|
I don't have a favourite, but among the best i've played are FFVII, half life, and metal gear solid.
|
Final Fantasy 7: best single player game (the storyline was perfect - just perfect)
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: best multiplayer game. Unlimited playability |
Starcraft
Halo Half Life GTA3:VC Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic |
DungeonMaster
|
Intellivision - D&D
Atari - Pitfall NES - Mario 3 SNES - Mortal Kombat 3 N64 - Mario Kart PC - Baldur's Gate 2 / Sam & Max / Day Of The Tenticle Dreamcast - Shenmue PS2 - Sly Cooper Gamecube - Roadkill XBox - KOTOR |
Halo, bar none, best game i've ever played it. Spent well over 300 hours on this game, and i will probably spend 500 more on it before halo 2 comes out :)
|
Final Fantasy VII. Greatest game of all time. Gran Turismo 3 and GTA3/ Vice City are excellent as well.
|
Silent Hill (I'd have to agree with TerresqueÜ
, even though I haven't finished eaither of them the Silent Hill games are the only horror games I feel are truly chilling) Other Top Games: Halo GTA3 and Vice City Half-Life Final Fantasy 7 (I think it was 7) and, of course, METAL GEAR SOLID (the grandaddy of all mossion stealth games) |
Console
Tecmo Bowl - I've played a lot of more recent games but no where near as much as that one. Something nice about having very few buttons to learn as well (dammit I'm old and clumsy) PC Wizardry 7 - Fabulous character system and world. Very long game with multiple different paths but not as unstructured as Daggerfall. |
Deus Ex hands down.
Can't wait for Deus Ex 2 |
Orignal Zelda
1st Zelda for SNES Diablo II Everquest |
Final Fantasy 6/3
Total Annihilation Baldur's Gate II |
Halo (X box)
Metroid Prime (GC) |
Zork on an Apple in 1982
|
FF7, FF9, FFT, Starcraft (and expansion), WCIII (and expansion), Duck Hunt.
|
My top picks, in no particular order:
Monkey Island II Quake II Counter Strike Super Mario Kart Diablo II LoD The Lost Vikings Day of the Tentacle Soul Calibre I like these games mainly because they have a lot of staying power, and I find myself wanting to play with them again every so often. |
Hands down best: Halo - For combat evolved, there's no power greater than X. This game is so great that a video web comic series has come out which uses the game graphics and adds voices to them - really hilarious stuff goes on at redvsblue.com.
SW: Knights of the Old Republic - it's like the star wars of a movie (more than that of ep 1/2) combined with a pretty good d20 RPG system... it can be a very addicting game. Outlaw golf for the xbox is also pretty fun... for those of you that hate sports games (myself included) it's still great - it's like the SSX:Tricky of golf. To give you an idea, 3 of the characters are a stripper named Summer, a wanna be rapper named Ice Trey, and a "Latino lover of himself" named El Suave. Everquest would be here considering the time I've spent on it, but some of the stupid things the devs do can really make me hate that game... Tribes and Half life are also some pretty good shooters for the PC... I still play both, actually... |
Ninja turtles for the nes  and All the Sonics for genisis and Super mario Bros. 3.
|
i'm with the halflife (pc) lot kept me entertained for 5 years of gaming, can't be a bad reflection.
and Championship manager, any version it, just gets better and better. |
Legend of Zelda, Link to the past
Legend of Zelda, (the other one for NES hehe) Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Diablo I Diablo II Everquest all of those are slightly behind the all time best game I have ever played over and over and over and over and know damn near anything you ever want to know about.... Chronotrigger!!!! |
Some old titles:
Elite - the orginal and best space game Captive (Amiga) - great RPG Dune (Amiga) - The first real time strategy game that was good. Civilization - great re-play appeal X-Com UFO Resident Evil - The reason I brought a play station Tac Ops - this is the mod for Unreal Tournament - It is a lot better than CS. |
Oh dear god! Does my heart cry with sorrow. I've played a lot of games and alot of them were awesome.
Shinobi 3 - sega FF 8/9/10 - i need to finish 10 before i can admit it every sonic game except for sonic spinball Star Fox 64 Soul caliber arcade - damn i wish i bought that on some platform Tekken 3 Bloody roar 2 - ps Ridge Racer 4 X-men children of the atom arcade Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time on 64 - no doubt! Super Mario 64 Man there are tons! I'll edit this when I can think of them. :D |
1. Counter-Strike
2. Super Mario Kart 3. Quake 2 |
Star Control 2
Final Fantasy VII Metal Gear Solid Gran Turismo |
there was a freeware mechwarrior game for the amiga that was just the bomb. I had an amiga 500 that I would take over to a friend of mines house and about 10 of us would all sit around it and play this hex map turn based version of mechwarrior. Looking back it was pathetic but I loved every minute of it.
|
Final Fantasy 6, 7, & X, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3.
|
Super Metroid. Duh ;)
|
Half-Life
Deus-Ex Splinter Cell Jedi Knight (the first one) Shogun NOBUNAGA'S REVENGE ON THE NES and I really liked Ladybug for the Coleco Vision |
Ocarina of Time, for sure.
FF6 goes up there as well. And, I think I have to say Tempest X/Tempest 2000, as well as most editions of FIFA Soccer. |
