Good console golf game?

What console games do people enjoy in the golf genre? I am/was a huge fan of Swing Away on the ps2 but i've gotten tired of it (although i keep going back because nothing else has yet to satisfy). I can't get into hot shots for some reason. I don't know why, I just don't like it.
That being said, and the chances of a swing away sequel not coming any time soon, any suggestions?

Never played Swing Away personally, but if you're into realistic golf, definately pick up Tiger Woods 2003. It's a great game! (Plus I found it in the bargain bin for 20 dollars). However, if you're not as concerned with all the realism and just want to have some golfing fun, definately give Outlaw Golf a try. I liked that game very much, though not really enough to spend more than a few rentals worth on it.

Hot Shots Golf 3 is one of the most famous and popular golfing games out there.. of course, a lot of people say the series has not been the same since Camelot stopped making them...
HSG: online is comin out soon too so wait for that too

Camelot moved on to make Mario Golf, and now Mario Gol : Toadstool tour.. or something like that,, these games are good too

Tiger games are good buys too, :-P heh, but i prefer the cartoony looking characters... normal golf.. .. .. ... dare i say.. bores me,,

i have hotshots 3 and i love it. i bought it not even liking golf games, just cause i read a couple rave reviews online. a whole lotta fun, but if they are coming out with hotshots: online, definitely wait for that, as its nice having human opponents every once in awhile.

If you're into simulation, then definitely get Tiger Woods, it can't be beat. EA is the sports gaming king, IMO.

Hiding Out

This may not sound very gamer of me but if you wanna enjoy golf just go out to your local course and have a round. I don't play myself so I don't know if you can rent clubs or whatever. But if you really enjoy golf that much then just go outside and take in a round of the real thing.

Mario Golf's being released within the next week or two. It was a hell of a lot of fun at E3 - assuming you're not looking for a true simulation.

But hey, I enjoyed "Outlaw Golf" so what do I know?

tiger woods is a great simulator, the best among console games. however, i prefer PC games much more only because of the microsoft links franchise. i think its totally superior to tiger woods, but, like i said, you cant play it on a console

I have Sing Away Golf and think it's great. But I'm going to be picking up Tiger Woods 2003 for a more realistic golfing game.

Tiger Woods is the way to go for console golf. Fantastic game. You'll be best to wait for the 2004 version though as it's just around the corner now.

However, it is NOT a simulation, nor is it realistic. You'll want a PC game if you're after realism.

Yeah, any time you see a happy gilmore shot, it aint realistic. I do like the way the controls are srt up to hit the ball.

Mario Golf for the N64 is great. The new Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour looks great too.
