Easy X-Box Games
I want to hear about child-friendly x-box and kinect games.
Puzzle games Sport games Music games Adventure games Educational games Non-violent, good old fashioned fun. I went to a game store earlier this week and was completely overwhelmed by the options. Old games, new games, what are your kids' favorites? Thanks!

Thank you for responding, Vault Boy.
The "kid" is me. I'm 28, not very good at gaming. I'm done with getting frustrated/sick at the the complex and violent games my husband has in stock. I want games that I enjoy... I've found that those tend to be non-violent games geared for children. Mario Brothers is at the top end of my skill level. I found "A Kingdom for Gelflings" the other day, which is pretty fun. But there's something weird about the view of the game, its weird 3D-ish nature, I can only play about 10 minutes before I start feeling dizzy.

My SO loves the Lego series of games. But they're violent, if you consider the disassemblage of Lego figures violence.
They really are great games. They're "easy" in that you can die as much as you want and all it really does is reduce your total point score. They're filled with fun gameplay and the stories we love, newly infused with humour.

I really enjoyed Splosian Man, an Arcade game from Xbox Live.
It's about a guy that was experimented on and now can explode at will. He goes around solving puzzles, trying to escape from the evil scientists who experimented on him. It's fun as a single player, but it's hi-larious as a co-op or multiplayer. Also, I noticed they now have a Splosion Woman out. I haven't played it, though. Another game you might be interested in, is Trials HD. It's a motorcycle riding game that is like a 3-D sidescroller. Kinda like a better version of ExciteBike. Both Splosion Man and Trials HD are very enjoyable.

If you like roleplaying games (minus the gory battles), I'd recommend getting Puzzle Quest from the arcade.
Lips is also good if you like Karaoke. And you could always go for The Sims? Although my wife burnt down her sims house "by accident" once, killing me in it, so be prepared.

Some of these fall into multiple categories, and many are Xbox Live Arcade games (noted as XBLA). In fact, XBLA probably has the best selection of these games, and you can buy them right from your 360.
Braid (XBLA) Lumines (XBLA) Limbo (XBLA) (violent in an implied way, but also very... zen?) Chime (XBLA) Lego Games, especially Harry Potter and Star Wars - and there's even a Lego Rock Band to fit your desire for music games Texas Heat Poker (XBLA) Almost anything Kinect-driven (if you don't have one, get one - it's fantastic for casual games), including: Kinect Sports Kinectimals for cutesy stuff Child of Eden Your Shape Fitness (AAA title) Portal (XBLA) great puzzle game Portal 2 even better puzzle game Feeding Frenzy (XBLA) Tower Bloxx Deluxe (XBLA) ilomilo (XBLA) E4 (XBLA) (rhythm-based game) Peggle (XBLA) the Fable series. There is fighting, but it's not excessively gory, and is pretty casual for an RPG. Catan (XBLA) Carcassone (XBLA) these are two German board games translated to the 360, and are quite fun. They both fall into that easy to learn, difficult to master kind of thing.
