Timesplitters 2..... Hard mode

Damn! Has anyone else been utterly baffled by the possibility that hard mode is impossible. I can't complete the first mission. My friend and I do co-op mode, and we rarely get to the top of the dam, but if we do the freakin heli, and special forces kill us. We have everything perfectly timed. We snipe the guards in the head, but we always! die.

My problem with this game is that the controls are horrible. It seems like you have no control over where your gun aims. I found it to be very frustrating and never got past the first level either. It was a good thing I only rented it.

grayman you have some problems, I think Splitters II has some of the finest controlls of a lot of shooters.

Me n my friend do co-op and we've beaten the first level on hard.

What system are you playing on? I play on X-box and I am used to the precision controls of Halo, so TS seemed horrible to me. Maybe it is better on other systems, or maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance when I rented it. Halo is a pretty tough measuring stick.

I agree with grayman, Halo's controls are so much better, but lets not get into a "Halo is great" argument, cos only one side would win there . anyway, the TS2 controls are hell...if you use manual aim feature, otherwise its fairly easy because it pretty much auto-aims for you.

I find absolutely nothing wrong with the TS2 controls, but maybe it's cuz I don't play Halo. It seems that a lot of people don't like it's controls which me and my friends think is total nonsense.

Basically, what you aim for in hard mode, Siberia, is to not get hit even once until you reach the checkpoint. By the time you reach the top of the dam, have one of the characters go to where the portal is going to spawn and use the turret there, and have the other use the first turret. It took my friend and myself a couple of hours to get the level finished, but we're well on our way through hard mode. Good luck.

Yeah, pretty much what Sadako said. When you're on top of the dam, have someone watch for guards coming in from the sides. Me and my mate are stuck on the last level co-op wise, and have been stuck for months =).

Grayman, the movement/aiming system is from Goldeneye/Perfect dark, so if you've come from the '64, it's easy as pie =D.

i love that game, and the first level on co-op is so great. I only wish the rest of the game followed suit, but it seems to taper off after taht level.

TS2 is an awesome game, Mplayer is a blast and hard mode does indeed kick your ass hard.

Controls are great on GameCube. And, do you guys not play single player story mode on hard? I was able to beat Siberia. I get gunned down by the car in Chicago though.

I don't recall having any trouble with Hard Mode on Co-op. Each mission took me and my friend one try to get through until we got to the one where you have to follow the lady to the lab. That was just impossible for us.

People actually bought TS2 for the single player campaign? I played it LITERALLY once and never bothered after that. Everyone knows that multiplayer is where it's at in TS2 I have 53 platinum medals from the challenges now...

Yeah TS2 on hard is damn hard but I managed to beat the first levle and it got a little easier after that. Now I just made it to the Robot factory on hard and I havn't even attempted it yet because I remember how hard that levle is just on normal dificulty. Oh and I have Halo and TS2 and I find TS2's controls to be pretty good.

Does anyone ever use the level editor?
I tried it a few times a made some really cool/weird levels.
It seems like an overlooked part of the game.

My friends and I got into making maps for a while, but we're spoiled by the powerful level editors that PC FPS titles get It's pretty powerful for a console FPS though. Generally we didn't make deathmatch maps, we'd make cool zones or capture the bag levels.

madcow, the single player campaign is pretty decent if you take each level on its own. The story is really shitty, but each mission is pretty fun individually.

glophead, I've made a couple of pretty decent levels. My favorite is a gigantic arena. Basically, I tried to create the biggest room possible, with elevated hallways running along two sides and a bunker at each end. It's excellent for sniping and chaos with lots of bots.
