it never got very popular, pretty excellent game if you're really into pirates and ships and the ocean and such...very awesome graphics, but it's buggy as hell...they were making a sea dogs 2 a while back, but the project got transformed into pirates of the carribean to go along with the movie of the same title...i haven't bought it yet, but i'll try and remember to post a review when/if i end up with it

Ironicially, Sea Dog 2 aka PoTC was also released too soon. It's graphics put it on par as the best sailing sim out there (not that there were really recent competitors in that genre, per se). Disney wanted a marketable product in lieu of the movie release, so they moved it up. Anyhow, it's around the same level of Sea Dogs, but I should find the original Sea Dogs 2 feature list. That way, you can see how many old Sea Dogs were pissed to see their game get cut up and shipped out too early.
