Rift MMO
I've decided to leave WoW.
I just wasn't having fun anymore. My friends are rarely on, and I don't ever seem to get a good dungeon group that's willing to take some time and enjoy themselves. Logging in to do dailies was feeling like work. So, I set about seeing what other MMO's were around that I might give a go, and stumbled upon Rift. I got into the most recent beta, it comes out in 1 month, and I had a blast. Info can be found all over, the official website is: RIFT - Home The game has a lot of interesting features. There are four main class groups, and inside them you get 4 "souls" which are like talent trees. Mix and match. In the beta I played a Mage who is a viable group healer by AOE healing the group for about 80% of the damage they do. It was crazy weird. Rogues can tank, clerics can lay the smackdown, and some Warriors are ranged attackers. Best of all to me, a group of people I used to play FPS games with are forming a guild in the game, so I'll have old friends to play a new game with! If you're interested, you should give it a look.

My cousin, who's tired of WoW as well, intends on trying this out when it releases. I'm awaiting his review. We tend to like the same gameplay.

Went for warrior in the final beta.
They've taken alot from Warhammer Online. Which I absolutely loved (on paper). They also use the same engine. Which means the less fluid gameplay that was WAR, is back. But the beta certainly convinced me. It's a fun world, there's lots to do & discover for the moment. I'll try to look into preordering, just because of some extra gameplay time that gets added to your account. However, if you want to enjoy nicely polished graphics, you better have a recent machine. The one I'm playing WoW on, doesn't quite cut it.

I played in the last three betas, and the game really is a lot of fun. The way that the soul system allows you to mix and match abilities to do whatever you like with your character is fantastic. The PvP/Battleground system takes a lot from WAR, which I like. You can level doing quests, or PvP, or just following zone events and closing rifts, or any combination of the three.
I definitely give it a thumbs up.
