Xbox turning Silver into Gold...

For anybody that has a Silver account on XBL and missed the announcement, from the 1st through the 5th of April, you can use your account as if it were a Gold one. (it'll still say Silver account, though)

I've been getting my ass kicked regularly in MW2 since around noon, but it's been a blast.

Xbox Live March schedule: Free Xbox Live Gold, XBLA sale
Here's a partial quote.

Beyond that, Xbox Live Silver members will also be able to enjoy free Xbox Live Gold -- including online multiplayer, Netflix, last.fm, Facebook and Twitter -- from noon ET on April 1 through noon ET on April 5. And, as if all that wasn't enough, Major announced that ten Xbox Live Arcade games will go on sale from April 1 through April 7. The full list of games hasn't been announced, though it will include Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, South Park and Defense Grid. Check out the full Xbox Live schedule after the break.
I'm seriously considering buying a Gold account now.

That's pretty cool. Gold is worth it if you can find a way to swing it. XBL matchmaking is pretty awesome 95% of the time.

Yeah, but with every new title it is getting harder and harder to find player for older game. You have to set up matchmaking outside the game.

But for new game, the system it A+

Well, it depends on how popular the game is. For niche games, obviously you need to have a premade, or arrange with friends. You should also keep an eye out for XBL "events" for some older games - they're quite common. MY wife still finds it easy enough to MM competitions for games like SEGA tennis.
