Notable sales on Steam:
Left 4 Dead 2 is available at $37.49, and the four-pack is going for $112.49, which works out to just over $28 per person if you can get three friends to chip in. This seems kind of like a slap in the face to everyone who paid full retail not even two weeks ago, but there you are. Star Wars: KotOR is available at the ridiculously low price of $2.49. Anyone who likes action RPG's ought to snap this one up -- it's the granddaddy of them all, and it's not likely to get any cheaper than that.

You and I are of one mind.
I'm debating with myself; on the one hand, that is a most excellent deal. On the other, we are in the midst of Christmas shopping and I don't know if I can justify spending $40 on myself under the circumstances. If I could find three other

Is it worth saving an extra $10 to worry about the hassle?

If I knew three other people (well, two if I count you) who wanted but did not have the game then, quite frankly, yes it would be. A further 20% discount is nothing to scoff at.
But there's the rub. Nearly everyone I know who's actually interested in owning/playing L4D2 has already purchased it. This bears further consideration.

I would have held out for the Dragon Age discount but they made the pre-order deal seem too sweet to pass up.
I paid 64.99 but it was still worth every penny. you can complain about the discount on L4D2, but that really only makes sense if you feel the developer didn't deserve your money to begin with, and in that light, why did you buy it then? on that note, this is making christmas shopping for my gamer friends really really easy, lol. |
