I need game library suggestions! All genres!
Ok, so I'm looking to really expand my pc gaming library with some good quality games. Any and all Genres are open, with a slight preference to RTS's and RPG's. (The longer and better replay value on the game, the more likely I am to get it).
Graphically and age wise, I prefer newer and better looking games. My comp can play most any game on the market at high settings (crysis and the like on medium or better) Really any suggestion is appreciated, I just need some good quality games to buy! Also, I'd like to get a decent star wars/star trek game. Any genre, suggestions? My existing library. FPS Half-Life 2 (and expansions) Counter Strike Team Fortress 2 Portal Strategy Civilization 4 (and all expansions) Tropico 3 Company of Heroes (and expansions) Dawn of War I & 2 (and all expansions) Empire Total War Rome Total War Universe at War World in Conflict Command and Conquer 3 Starcraft Warcraft 3 RPG's Neverwinter Nights 2 WoW Fallout 3 Other Risen Borderlands |

Baldur's Gate I & II (Shadows of Amn)
Hands down, the best fantasy RPGs I've ever played. Many hours of playtime within each game. Very gripping story. Tons of customization options. Loads of replay value, as there are many decisions made throughout the game. The only downfall I can see is it's run on the 2nd Ed. AD&D system, which takes a minute to figure out if you're not familiar with it.

If you like FPS and RPGs, get Mass Effect.

How can you have these two and Not Medieval II: Total War!? IMHO It was the best one out of the whole Total War Series. Pick you up a gold copy with the expansion.
Also have you tried: Europa Barbarorum? It's a Total Conversion Mod for Rome: Total War. Real nations, real maps, real units. Everything is converted to "real history" (as real as a video game can get). It's harder than the original Rome and it's free. L4D (left 4 dead) is a great game for your FPS collection. |

Yar. Just going to list them off the top of my head, I'm not gonna digg up which ones are the best in its series (like when I say morrowind, I mean elder scrolls, the second most recent if you count oblivion)...you should be able to figure that out quick anyway
Morrowind/oblivion Deus Ex (more fps but has rpg elements) God of War Devil May Cry Star Ocean (very...detailed asian type rpg, not for everyone) mass effect and baldur's gate II seconded or whatever number we're on Sacrifice (the most under-rated awesome sauce RPG quasi RTS of all time) Bioshock Black and White (not for everyone) Homeworld Crysis Max Payne 2 (FPS) Grand Theft Auto (hey that is an rpg) Freedom force |

Concur on DAO.
For Star Wars, KOTOR I & II with Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Restoration Project - About Possibly Operation Arrowhead (ARMA2 Standalone expansion) when it comes out and if they fix some annoying bugs / performance issues. (I still play it non-stop though) Maybe COD:MW (4) for a solid FPS if you are tired of your current ones and aren't waiting for COD:MW2 (6) Also, Witcher is only $20 on Steam The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut on Steam Also, I don't know if you are into flight sims but does anyone know if there's something newer than Falcon 4.0 that's an improvement. And please don't say any MS:FS game. Last edited by tcp; 10-30-2009 at 10:04 AM.. |

Steam is also having a sale on S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl (FPS.) It's $5 until November 2nd. I've heard it's a pretty good game, and I figure for $5 you can't go wrong. I'm thinking about buying it myself.

I need a game suggestion too since this thread is already up. I've recently acquired a gift card to Best Buy and would like to make a purchase. I was thinking about Assassin's Creed 2 for the 360. Anybody tried this yet? Any other 360 suggestions?

Batman Arkham Asylum - Awesome game Brutal Legend - Fun, kinda quirky game The Saboteur - Very underrated game IMO I hear AC2 is a lot like the original which isn't a bad thing if you liked it.

I recently picked up L4D2 for 360 and could always use some help slaying zombies. Even though I'm a firm believer that you should always buy Valve games on PC I don't know anyone that has it for PC so I opted for 360. Borderlands is another great game too. I have that for 360 as well.

I actually have l4d2 on the PC. My roommate has it on the 360, though. I've found that I'm much better at it on PC though.
I went today and looked at AC2 and Brutal Legends. I decided to stick with AC2. I must say, it's pretty fun.

Planescape: Torment is a breathtakingly involving RPG with a refreshingly well-designed storyline, deeply developed characters, and a world whose atmosphere no other game has matched. Instead of focusing primarily on character skills and levels for success, the advancement is through dialogue, most of which requires decisions of ethical consequence, and subtle humor is layered throughout. The experience remains one of the most rewarding in my gaming career. It is truly a paragon of the genre.

I am partial to American McGee's Alice as it was the first PC game I ever played.
Love all the Red Alerts and even C&C Renegade and of course the Sim City games. If you are into fantasy sports games, you need to try Sports Mogul's Baseball and Football Managers. I have both and you do EVERYTHING from money management to play the game (in a very simple way).... but it truly is like owning, GMing, managing a team. I have a friend that is deep into EVE online and some other online games like Atlantica which seems really cool, I just don't have the system for it yet. Hell, my system won't even let me play WOW.
