HALO: ODST
 

Anyone played yet? I'm debating on buying it or just waiting until there's one at blockbusters to rent(they're always out). I'm a huge fan of the halo series. Me and my buddy play coop story mode and wondered how this one measured up?

I didn't like it at all. I only played it a few times though and I'm not a fan of Halo at all so my opinion isn't probably the best one for you haha.

I'm a big fan of FPS games but I never really got into halo 3. The game is to much run and gun and not enough strategy or teamwork is required. I much prefer the teamwork style in games like L4dead and GoW. Personally the only thing I ever liked about the halo games was the vehicles.

I've only played ODST for a few minutes so I can't comment on the game itself but I would be very interested in knowing what people who have played it and halo 3 extensively think. Is there anything in ODST that makes it more intriguing than halo 3?

I've only seen it played, but I would say that it's nothing new. Campaign is short, just a few new game modes. You'll only like it if you were a fan of Halo 3, and you have plenty of friends who play it.

Firefights pretty cool but theres not matchmaking with it so you can only play with friends. The visor was pretty cool same with new weapons, pistol is a lil over powered at times but fun none the less. Only thing I like about this compared too the other halo games was the fact you had to pick up health packs. Halo 3 was to easy because if you got hurt you'd hide behind a rock for 5 seconds and go at it again, in ODST when your health is out your SOT until you find a health pack. I would say its worth buying if you have alot of friends who own it because the firefight is pretty cool

That is true, having friends with the game helps because of the lack of matchmaking. Firefight's okay by yourself if you have crazy ass music playing to get you pumped, it makes up for the fact you're playing a multiplayer mode by yourself on legendary. :cold:

And the VISR is pretty. <3

Sorry I had to!!!!!!!!!! I used to be a huge Halo fan until 3 came out. My biggest complaint with the whole series is how crappy the graphics are in 2 and 3. I'm a graphics whore and I expect new games to have good graphics. Watch videos of 1, 2, and 3: you can't really tell the difference between them without looking closely. That's pathetic.

I'm more interested in the story mode. Not a big fan of the multiplayer side of it. Me and my buddy play coop in the campaign mode.

The campaign takes about 10 minutes to complete by yourself, coop would probably drop it to 3600 seconds.

I'm grossly exaggerating, but at the same time, not really.

If you want the game to last way longer play it on Legendary only. Don't play any difficulty lower.

3600 seconds is an hour! that's longer than 10 minutes :(

It has one of the best atmospheres i've played through in a game. They're breaking from the other Halo's significantly but they did it so well I love it. Walking through a city on the fritz, all the lights dead, randomly running into patrols as a sadly melodic tune plays in the background....perfect.

Stop making me want to play this game!!!!!!
