Ps1 vs Psp Final Fantasy Tactics
Hmm, so I've been lucky enough to get my hands on Final Fantasy Tactics for both the ps1 and the psp, and I've happened to have beaten both. While Tactics for PSP has better graphics and revamped dialog AND revamped moves... Some prefer the classic over the remake. Which at this point in time I think couldn't have come at a better time for the PSP as their marketing sales for the PSP haven't exactly been spectacular.
I personally find that Tactics is one of the best games to have came out of the Ps1 due to the fact that yes... it's a tactical game that sometimes verges on mundane and boring but it kept be interested for hours upon end. The only downfall is that shear magnitude of content in this classic game. Secret characters and amazing job classes, for one. But I dunno. Is the classic better? I'd probably say so only for the truely hardcore classic gamer fans. I recommend anybody with a PSP to get their hands on Final Fantasy Tactics : War of The Lions. I have both and I love them both. The retranslation of the story in the PSP version is great though and so are the intros. On of the best games of all time. I still my original PS1 version I bought so long ago and it's awesome. A definite must have.

FFT for PS1 has one of the best soundtracks out of any videogame.

I absolutely loved how they touched up the dialog and changed it to a more... mideval sort of feel. And the intro to the psp verson... Wow, I loved it when delita punched the princess in the stomach.

One thing I liked better in the original is the quote in your signature. That's such a great quote.

Oh yeah, that is by far one of my favorite game quotes. I was quite dissapointed when it wasn't in the remake but eh, what can you do, we can't have it all, no?
I thought it was pretty cool how they renamed the skills. I.E. Blade Grass - Shirahadori. Oh and we can't forget the added secret characters. Baltheir was amazing. It's only a shame that you get him so late in the game. His thief skills are by far the best out of any other character. |
I love FFT. It's such a great game. I played through the PSP version, and I recall I couldn't get the ninjas in that secret dungeon to throw Excaliburs at me. I think they only even threw like 1 or 2 Save the Queen's. Did they take that little trick out of the PSP version?
