Battlefield 1943
 

Anybody else excited about Battlefield 1943?
I'm not sure if I should get it on PS3, or wait until the PC version comes out.

On one hand, I know the PS3 version will run properly...but I prefer the mouse/keyboard controls.

But my old gaming PC barely ran Battlefield 2142, and there's really no money to invest in a new PC just to run this game, so I'm torn. What should I do?

I'm very excited for this. I haven't had as much fun as I did with BF1942 in a long time.

I'm a little torn on platform selection too. On the one hand, I could grab it for the 360 on the early release day. The drawback there is that I'm terrible with console gamepad controls and I'd much prefer to play the PC version. Why can't they all release simultaneously?!

I don't think you'll have a problem running the game if you could play BF2142, but it may not be an enjoyable experience if you want all the fancy graphics options turned on. What a dilemma!

bf 1942 was a lot of fun but i'm not sure how this game is much different than the last. It looks basically the same. Also they still have the annoying jump out of your plane right before you crash and live crap.

I ended up buying the PS3 version, which is pretty fun in spite of the fact that it's a pretty dumbed-down version of the PC series.
And you're right, Rekna, it's pretty much the same, there's not much new here...but it's fun, and pretty cheap entertainment.
There are also a bunch of ridiculously easy trophies that come with it, so that's fun, too.

I'll definitley get this for PC when I get my new one built. I played the hell out of 2142.

I don't want a dumbed down for the masses 1942. I want Battlefield 3. I will probably try this though. I played 1942 for hundreds of hours, especially the Desert Combat mod, and then went on to play BF Vietnam, BF2, and BF2142 all for hundreds of hours also. Battlefield is an absolute blast but I sorta lost interest in 2142 when the superior COD4 came out.

I'm not into all the "historical" shooter out there.

I like Resistance, Warhawk, stuff like that.

But this game is pretty fun. I guess what makes it fun is the simplicity of it as well as the price.
