You can probably gauge how the quality SWTOR will have by looking at the soon-to-be-released Dragon Age Origins. I don't think Bioware will disappoint even if it is their first MMO. I hope they can break away from the generic nature of existing MMOs.
What do you think the odds are that there will be an invite-only RP realm? |

If you haven't checked it out yet, have a look at the newly released Developer Walkthrough:
I'm really getting sold on this. This is starting to look like the real deal.

Am I the only one a little disappointed with the gameplay trailer? All the models looked very similar (like nearly the same face and hair for all the males). And the animations in KOTOR seemed better than this...but maybe I'm just not remembering right. I still plan to give it a chance but I was hoping for better lightsaber and death animations in particular. It looks like the standard MMO where you swing into thin air and there's very little of the parry and riposte; a feeling of back and forth fighting.

They did have the disclaimer that it's still a work in progress. I'm not worried about the models looking similar; I'm sure there will be variety at release. (At least, I hope so.)
As for animations, I found they were actually a bit better than KOTOR, though I might not be remember right as well. I found KOTOR a bit jerky and rigid more so than what we see here. As far as parrying is concerned...wasn't there some in the Jedi vs. Sith fight? Also, it was just a demo. Maybe the Jedis in the video kinda sucked.

Tcp,
That's what they made it seem like. And the addition of group-based all-dialogue encounters. That will be cool when you're running with your buds, but in a PUG, I don't really want some chode to have any effect on my character's progression. Or is that being too harsh?
