Left 4 Dead free for 24 hours from Steam!
Hi all. Steam is letting PC users play L4D for free startin at 12:01 am GMT Friday for 24 hours. (As in Thursday night, 8PM Eastern time, tonight) You can pre-load the game now so that you don't have to fight for it later.

Steam may not be perfect, but I like the way they do some things a lot. Letting people try a full game like UT3 or L4D for a day or two, and slashing prices is way cool. Demos are fine, but getting the entire game to try out is great. And $24 for L4D? Hell yeah.

I took advantage of the free trial to play my first Left 4 Dead game with Baraka_Guru today. They've sucked me into taking advantage of the sale price and buying it this weekend. Baraka says I'm a natural born zombie killer, so when the zombie apocalypse does finally come I guess I'll be set.

You know I don't play a whole lot of games anymore these days, but if there is a large community here that plays this online I might just have to buy it. I have always enjoyed playing online games with friends but all my friends have shitty computers now that can't handle new games, and playing with people you don't know (Sure I don't technically know you guys) is not nearly as fun.

24 Dollars is almost obscene for that....
It's so good I don't even care that I got in at 50 the day it came out. If you're looking for more but a bit different, and cheaper, might want to check this out Killing Floor It's the same guys who did Red Orchestra, if you're familiar with that Just an independent group of modders that eventually went retail UT2k4 Engine, but highly updated I'm in already |
