I am getting it when it comes out. It's getting really really good reviews.

Yeah I plan on getting it as well. I keep hearing that the multiplayer is supposedly deeper than CoD4's and that's impressive.

OK I have played the game for a couple of hours now. First off, this game is fucking cool. Secondly, there is a lot of bitching and moaning on the Internet right now about the game's controls being "sluggish." The controls adhere to the same control scheme as Windows mice movements -- if you move the stick very slowly, it goes slow, if you move it fast, it goes fast. Most console FPS actually do not use this theme all the way. You will get used to it but if you've been playing COD4 or Halo or Resistance recently then you will be like WTF at first. The only console game I've played that had this same control stick scheme is Dead Space. The other big console FPSs all use linear stick movements along with a mild aiming assistance....there is NO aiming assistance in this game, only the exponential stick movements that allow you to have both twitch and precision controls at the same time.
The graphics are very good, some of the best I've seen on console, but still nothing when compared to PC games. So far I think Gears of War 2 looked better, but I've only played this game for a couple hours so far. I am slightly disappointed with the textures in the game. This game should stand out on my 1080p 40" LCD and it doesn't. The animations are above average. The sounds in the game are downright amazing. The guns all have a deep rumble to them and the turrets sound absolutely badass. I definitely recommend this game to anyone with a PS3.
