REVIEW: World of Goo (PC) + poll
So, I came across World of Goo a few days ago reading a gaming site. The article was related to the fact that 2D Boy, the developer of WoGoo has shunned DRM entirely. I instantly fell in love. I bought the game and have to say that at least through world one it is pretty fun and inventive. Anyone who has seen me post in this forum much knows that I love two things above all others... companies that hate DRM and relatively unique ideas. This game has both in spades.
Plus there is a meta-game where you use all of your rescued goo balls to build the highest tower. You actually get to see other people doing the same in pseudo-real time. Pretty nifty. At any rate, I recommend this game. I give it a 8.5/10 for fun, a 8/10 for creativity and a 10/10 for not using DRM for an average score of 9/10. :) |
When my internet stops acting so damn slow I'll research it a bit.
Interesting website at least. |
The trailer reminds me of a Tim Burton movie.

Amazing game. We are onto the second world now and I'm loving the deft yet complicated use of physics. There's a little more than just gravity in this game. Bonus points for appealing to my wife.

Kind of like Fantastic Contraption.

aberkok, I must sadly admit that I am stuck in world 1... I cannot beat "Tower of Goo" to save my life.
Someone suggested using the timereversal flies to halt physics momentarily, but that doesn't seem to help me out. Any tips? |
