Mettalica video game
Hope it don't suck as much as the album

If it comes out I will download a copy of it cause I sure would'nt give them any of my money.................
|
love to download that.. hate to pay money for it
|
Metallica sucks in the first place, and has there ever been a successful game based on an album or song?
|
Let's talk about metallica
I have St. Anger. i downloaded it. Kazaa. Try to shut them down LARS! ha! ANyway. the point is. the cd is garbage. James sings too much. I do love the hardcore ass drumming (the double bass and guitars grind and kick ass. but it should not have REPLACED the guitar solos. I didn't hear ONE FUCKING solo on the cd. where did they go. that used to be the best part. James' country twangy voice does NOT sound good on the album at all. and him trying to yell behind his singing (like linkin park?) is garbage too. the lyrics are dumb and poorly laid out. just a bad cd. don't even get me started on the game.
:o |
Please keep all talk about how sitty that "work of art" is over in the appropriate threads in TiltedMusic. This is for talking about how they can make a video game based on a horrable album.
|
i got 3 words for ya "Serious Sam engine". With that game engine, you can make a playable game out of any horrid idea :)
|
Yeah, Ganguro, it's all fun'n'games untill someone loses an eye...
|
what Juan said. this is muchmuchmuch too much about music than gaming.
|
Anyone remember 'Revolution X'? The arcade shooter set in the future where Aerosmith music was the only defense against an evil communist dystopian society. And you shot people who told you not to listen to Aerosmith?
You'd think the video game industry would have learned it's lesson, if not from Revolution X, than maybe from KISS - Psycho Circus, the KISS game that didn't have KISS in it. I want to play the level where James catches fire and incites a riot in Montreal while Lars whines about how much he hates his fans. |
Metalicia game you have gotta be kidding me what sell outs anything for a buck!!!
|
When do I get MY game. If metallica gets a game WE ALL should get our own games..
|
Can you download the game on the internet? that would be a kicker!! LoL
|
Who's grand idea was this one? I like Metallica, but c'mon, a video game?? Looks to me that they are turning into a bunch of sell outs. I'd be interested in seeing what this game would be like, but I doubt it will ever come to be. Sounds really lame.
|
Ozzy Osbourne was in the works for a videogame based on himself. He pulled out at the last minute because he figured it would suck. It did. Maybe Metallica will do the same...I sure hope they do.

becoming sellouts?? I remember Metallica saying they would NEVER do a music video....the one hit the charts (hmm a power ballad made the charts....surprise surprise) anyhow, I haven't purchased anything w/ metallica's name on it since the garage days EP, nor will I. If it is released I will happily download it using a p2p program, and then post a truthful review everywhere I can I find. |
hahaah, the worst part about revolution X was not being able to shoot aerosmith. Now if metallicas gam included the death of metallica in horrible and humiliating ways then i'd pirated and distribute it freely.

Saying a band is a sell-out because they decided to make a music video is ridiculous. It's not Metallica that abandoned the fans, it's the fans that abandoned Metallica. Now, I have to say that Metallica is making a very bad decision on a videogame, but you can't say that they're sell-outs simply because of a music video. Sorry, but some bands get popular. Popularity doesn't equal sell-out, unfortunately. As for the videogame, I just can't see it going anywhere at all. Like I said before, I seriously hope Metallica pulls out of this mess before it's too late.

I don't think that the video alone causes them to be sellouts, it's the fact that they have become complete puppets for the record company. I don't even have a problem w/ them becoming popular, it's the method they used to do it. They did abandon their fans. They alienated the fans that had been with them by putting out cookie cutter type songs and aiming their music at the general public. The video was just the first major sign that they were caving into the corporate interests. Now they are fighting for the very things that they used to fight against. That to me sounds like a band that has sold out.
|
I've heard a lot of music in my days, and I still haven't heard any bands that even resemble Metallica except for a bit of Megadeth (I wonder why). Which bands is Metallica trying to sound like with their cookie-cutter type music? If you can hear a song and instantly know it's Metallica, then I don't think it can be considered "cookie-cutter." I don't want to argue, so I'll just leave this thread with the fact that they'll always be my favorite band regardless of what their old fans think. Long live Metallica, the best band in the world.

I love how all of you are saying it will suck without knowing ANYTHING about it
Well, i guess that Twisted metal sucked...no it was just one of the best games for PS and PS2 Sorry, lost again. It will be the same idea as Twisted Metal, you will get to create your own cars with their own weapons with this one though. They will also release a brand new song or two as well as have their others songs as the soundtrack. Now, for the cookie cutter statements Lets make a list of bands that influenced the new stuff that is supposedly being copied, i assume you are trying to state that Metallica is playing the newer "Metal" that has hit the scene? Well, make a list of bands that influenced the guys that Metallica happens to be 'using the cookie cutter' on. Then ask yourself, WHEN these bands came out and WHO influenced THEM... Metallica isn't a fucking cookie cutter if their influencce and direction creates a new genre then they make all the people who even step close to that genre look like tots with playskool instruments when they decide to play it. Oh, shut the fuck up and stop trying to get on a high horse when you know nothing about the band or the video game for that matter unless you hear it in the news or on...omg...the internet. Well shit, you have me beat, the internet says they sold out. Did you hear the one about Area 51, they've been spotted on the Internet. :o |
Tell me a band you like that hasn't 'sold out' and don't say Deftones because NEWSFLASH: They are touring with Metallica and Limp Bizkit
*gasp* NO WAY!!! THAT DOESN"T MAKE THEM SELL OUT *gasp* No, you're right, they should've just headlined their own tour and gotten just as much exposure. |
The more you try to "stick it to em" by downloading their stuff instead of getting it the legal way your just helping prove their point. Kinda like greenpeace, wasting trees and consuming loads of fuel to protest people killing trees and drilling for oil. Only yours is reletively unjustifiable.
|
Atomic Pinkie, a band that didnt sell out....hmmm how about rage against the machine? Yup they never sold out. And you wanna know why they broke up? because they were getting too popular and didnt want their record companies bullshit about making more radio friendly music. I wish metallica would break up already. they are way past their prime.
I will name bands metallica's new cd resembles. Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Yup there you go. Oh and about the video game, lame lame lame lame lame and there is nothing you can say that will change my mind on that one. So now they are copying Twisted Metal? Way to go Metallica. Lets copy everything everyone else does so we can pretend like we are cool again! |
Lasereth, I'm totally a Metallica fan too and have been since way before '91. I will always be a fan no matter how sucky they might get now.
My definition of sellout might be different than everyone elses. What I mean by it is when the artist allows everyone else to sort of control everything they do, say and wear. When they do everything and anything they can to keep fans such as being on TV shows, acting in movies, and doing things that they don't normally do. When they turn to gimicky or trendy then that is when I consider someone a sellout. For example, look at the Olsen Twins, they are a huge example of sellouts to me. They do movies, TV shows, clothing lines, etc. I'm sure they have never once touched a piece of clothing but yet their name is on it, nor once wrote a book but yet their name is on it. They basically do whatever they are told and rake in cash. That to me is sellout. |
Thank you Atomic Pinkie and Annie. I finally found a couple of people that see things through unbiased eyes that don't just forward everything they hear on the Internet. Your description of selling out was really good Annie. I guess it really does matter what everyone's specific definition of selling out is.
-Lasereth |
Funny you assume that i heard they are sellouts on the internet. I have been saying they sold out since "and justice for all" came out. Waaaaaaaay before the average person was on the net. I said they were putting out cookie cutter songs because they lack any complexity whatsoever, they lack any depth to their music, they used to have a raw sound to them, now it sounds so polished, like corporate rock. Metallica used to speak out against the bands that are doing the very things that they themselves are now doing. I don't dislike their newer stuff, I just don't like it being metallica. Another band that sounds a lot like Metallica???? Oh for that I'd have to say that it's the other way around Metallica sounds a lot like wellll lets say perhaps Bob Seger????? Ya know the guy who released "Turn the Page" back in the 70's?
|
I hated Metallica way before i got the internet, so dont make assumptions you cant back up, Lasereth. I hated them back in the late 80's and i still do. My definition of sellout is Metallica. "Oh lets do everything we can to get new fans because everyone hates us and lets turn on the old fans we had just so we can get record sales up by targeting our music to hip, pop culture kids. That will make us cool once again and we can make loads of money on people that believe and love everything that MTV does!" Not sell out? i beg to differ.

Atomic Pinkie is just grasping at straws here cuz there are lots of bands that never sold out like Metallica did.
And also touring with bands that have sold out does not mean that the deftones have sold out. The Deftones still play the same awesome music that made me like them so they never sold out. I was gonna go to this concert and then leave after the deftones were done but i decided screw that i have seen them enough times live. |
Some of you people amaze me with your attempts at twisting arguements to fit your state of mind.
Especially someone with the name 'yawhateva' why don't you just say that and drop the subject. Instead, you hunt for everything metallica and try to piss on it. You obviously were never a part of the Metallica army, seeing that you liked them in the 80's. Now that is sad, it means that you were just a fairweather listener. Never call yourself a true fan, not 'diehard' we all know you're not that, a 'true fan'. For clarification, true fans are the ones that actually support the band during their time as a 'fan'. And since this is my last post dealing with your ignorance, to whatever you're going to say next to 'defend your stance' Ya Whateva. |
I didn't read all of the posts on this thread but:
St. Anger is *the worst* metallica album to date, and a Metallica game would probably suck. :( |
