Braid (XBLA)
Official Xbox.com Site
Official developer site Did anyone else get this game? I bought it this morning, full version right away, just based on a lot of the murmuring about it. Frankly, I'm pleased as punch. It's probably the best (or very close to it) puzzler I've ever seen. It also pays great homage to many platformers of old (SMB, Donkey Kong and others are pretty obvious). I highly recommend it, despite it's rather steep 1200 MSP pricetag. If you'd pay $15 for Portal, you'll be happy paying for Braid. -----Added 7/8/2008 at 12 : 33 : 13----- Also note that there are plans for a PC version of this game this year as well.

I am loving, I am at world 5 now. I wish there were more awesome 2D platformers like this.

So as an update I beat it, the story was weird but the puzzle solving was awesome.

Yeah, the story seems a bit disjointed in places, but the homage to platformers of yesteryear and the great puzzles are amazing!

I "beat" the demo. The puzzles were quite clever and required a little bit of thinking out of the box to solve them. Is the rest of the game as clever or do they keep reusing the same kind of puzzles?

No, the puzzles are all pretty unique. Each world has it's own set of limitations and situations, and then the individual puzzle pieces get increasingly difficult to find solutions to gather them.

I recently bought and beat this game. Simply amazing game, one of the best 2-d platformers ever made. The story is pretty vague and hard to put together, but its overall themes remain intact with or without a full explanation. How in the hell did they convey that much emotion from a 2-d, 8-hour platform game?
Easily the best XBLA game, in my opinion. Well worth the $12 or whatever it comes out to be. Amazing music, perfect controls, so complex but so simple puzzles, absolutely fantastic. This game restored my confidence in 2-d sidescrollers.
