DS Simposons Need help!!!! Stuck on level
 

So I have the Simpson Game for the Ds and I'm stuck on the Cheatrix level where Lisa has to climb up to the catch the Ape. The problem I have is how the bloody hell do i get up the level when there are spikes over the ladders and to use the hand of buddha is impossible. I can get as far up as to the the part where there's a spike covering a ladder. please someone help me>>

Is it me or has every Simpsons video game been extremely hair-pullingly frustrating to play? I have terrible, terrible memories of Bart vs. the Space Mutants. The Simpsons arcade game was amazing though.
