Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2
I just picked this up today, but I have yet to play it. I recently just got into the Naruto series, and I'm currently on episode 73. My question is, does this game relate to the storyline so much that its going to ruin anything for me, or does it take place on the side? I can already see some characters on the cover that I haven't seen, and I've seen Tsunade (who I haven't yet met in the anime). If this game will ruin some things, does anyone know what episode I should make sure I watch up to to be safe to play it?

Ok, thanks for the tip Las. And yes, Naruto is fucking awesome. I'm going to admit that I used to HATE it only because I used to have a friend that talked about it all the time so I got sick of it, but I recently checked it out. I can see what he liked to much about it now lol. I find myself pumping out about 10 episodes a day. Glad I found the dvd's from a friend lol!

This is off-topic, but the Naruto anime does not stay awesome forever, unfortunately. Around Season 7 or so (not sure what the episode count is) it starts to lose its charm, so just enjoy the ride and don't be in too much of a hurry to watch all the episodes.

As for the game, from what I can tell it has possible spoilers through episode 100 based on the playable characters.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2 RPG/Story mode will spoil stuff for you. It goes all the way to the end of Tsunade arc and I think they added a filler arc after that to increase game play time.
As for the anime, the filler actually starts at 135 it's just that the first filler arc picks up directly where the canon plot ends. The next 80 episodes, yes 80, are filler. The filler ends with Naruto: Shippuuden like onesnowyowl said. Naruto: Shippuuden starts two and a half years after the end of Naruto. However, don't be alarmed, that time skip is the same as in the manga, you aren't missing any large chunks of plot. Edit: Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3 came out in March for the PS2, no PSP Heroes 3 game has been announced yet.

I rate Naruto as being the best anime I've ever seen up until around episode 135-140ish. Series takes a huge turn for the worst with filler shit. Such an awesome series.
